Barry, is there any way to search the Parrish/County records there to see what, when and who installed it?

Don't get your hopes up too high as there is some damage for sure because the slab/deck is no longer there. To do away with that will require damage to the top of the wall most likely no matter what kind of pool it was.
I just did a half in half out for my brother so equipment is right down the road and I'll be there next week to pick it up. I could probably swing by if you want.
I'd be glad to help steer you in the best direction.
At no charge of course. Lol

Not that I know of brad. And back then the permit system sucked.
I honestly would NOT say shit to the Parrish just yet.
You may open a can of worms you don't want to open.

Ah, I can go into all the local building departments and see what, who, when and how much it cost by address or owners.

Thanks. Hopes not high but also don't wanna cover a possibility without knowing for sure. I'll be playing in the twin trying to dig due to our lately crap weather.

If you guys are spending 20 to 1 on maintenance vs swimming you're doing it wrong.

OP, My brother is not far from you. I'm in that area often.

My time is limited right now but I'll come by and take a look if you want.
Pools were my sideline for years.

+1

In ground pools should not be that big of a problem unless your only using it 1 hour a year. My parents have an in ground pool. Just takes a little diligence making sure your chemical levels are right, removing leaves and dirt, and keep your filters clean. Keeping the filters clean is the biggest problem for us simply because we're in the desert and tons of dirt gets in the pool.

Other than that we usually drain the pool around this time of year, check and patch any cracks, bleach/scrub the sides and fill it up. Other than draining the pool it only takes us 4 hours to do it all.

We have more issues with our creepers than with the pool itself.

Don't get a pool. Trust me, they aren't worth the hassle. I'm moving soon and I can't wait. Just so I don't have to deal with the ****ing pool any more.

That being said, get somebody out there to look at it. They will fix the dirt.

PS- be prepared to get raped in utility bills if you refill your pool in Kali.

how can you appeal a win? on what grounds? I agree that the seller should pony up the money to fix the issue

I asked the same exact thing. Dude was a lawyer so I guess it didn't cost him anything except time. I think he decided he didn't ask for enough, appealed, and got even more money out of my father. My dad didn't talk about it a whole lot, he wasn't happy he lost twice.

exactly. theyre about as great to deal with as the IRS.

they could make you start to remove it asap. via professional contractor. all at your expense of course. and your only recourse would be to sue to the people you bought the house from. but the ball would definitely be in your favor at that point and best to do it sooner than later.

I don't think its able yo be saved.. Went about 3 foot deep and and no wall. Used my rod and the wall (I think) hard stop is still another foot . seems they may have busted a good bit of top surround. And the dirt started about 3 inches below pump concrete already. May dig a little more but more less not worth it. So seems now I gotta get my boys to come scoop some the deep end and bust the concrete on bottom that way my yard man can get the back yard spread and sodded .. Above ground it is with a deck ..

This information just saved you a ton of money. Now for a load of dirt and plant some bushes before it is declared a wet land.

At least you know now.

Let me know what kind of prices you are getting on the above ground kit.

If you are buying local I may be able to save you a few bucks.
If buying online probably not. lol

Who makes a good quality above ground pool? My water table is high so I am forced above ground, but want something that will last.

Haven't looked but online. I have to research and find the best for longevity as I will add a deck. Don't wanna be removing deck to fix issues.

^Even better, an above ground that's been put in the ground. That's what mine is. The wall is rusted through in places, it will need replaced in a few years. When that happens is when it gets ripped out and a concrete pad poured over it so I can extend the garage.

I'll take this instead of above ground all day.
