Ain't that the truth! When I was looking I was shocked at what some people are asking for USED motors. Some people wanted 5g for a low mile motor. I said f no. Whats another thousand to get a brand new one. So I just searched until I found the right used deal locally (within driving distance). Still wasn't cheap for being in pieces but o well it was definitely less than half of a new motor.

Hopefully I have a start up vid soon! Been testing my new GoPro in preparation

I checked out 5.0 prices and at the time (like a year ago) the SC aluminator was only 6800 and people wanted 6k for a used stock 5.0. I was blown away.

Well the fitting never came in...even though the shop overnighted it...and it said it was out for delivery saturday...but was never delivered. Yay for the wonderful parcel services.

So...first off. I'm a dumbass. Word of advice for people, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS THOROUGHLY.

I was putting the belts on this past sunday...

I went back to the directions for the power by the hour accessory bracket kit...turns out I am dumb and didn't read well enough. I just read, cut off standoff for a/c idler pulley since it doesn't get used. I just thought it meant to cut off the actual nub that the pulley rode on. Well I had to re-read the instructions after I found this out of course...and at the end of the step it says, AS CLOSE TO THE TIMING COVER AS POSSIBLE...

So now I have to grind down that whole standoff...of my already powder coated timing cover. Cool.

Oh and the fuel fitting and coolant resevior didn't show up yesterday either. Shop is saying today but we haven't heard from them. So just a recap...its Tuesday, we ordered the fitting and reservoir Friday with OVERNIGHT shipping...This build is just full of win.

First start up should come soon but we still have our small problems. lol

I can't believe no one has really run into this yet or maybe I just haven't read up on it. When using aftermarket fuel rails and fittings...you have to modify the coolant tube on the passenger side head that goes to the heater core...We didn't try one of those low profile 90° fittings because we think it would then hit the intake. So can't really start the car without that hole plugged or something. I will eventually hook up the heater lines. Because why have street car if you can't drive it in the cold? lol I don't really need the heater but its so easy to hook up. And seems to be harder to plug that hooking it up. who knows.

Nice swap! your car will be real nice when you get it done and I have some incentive for you. My friend just swapped a Coyote crate motor into his fox and with no tuning or anything just the way it came with the stock Ford tune his first day out he went 10.90 @ 123 and his car is not a stripped out race car and he is about 220 or so.

Fitting and coolant tank finally came in! Did some work last night. Had to make parts run so we didn't get as much done as we'd like.

Fuel system is done.

Ground down the stupid nub and sprayed some paint over it...it doesn't match at all. But the alt covers it up. I'll be putting the belt back on tonight. Hopefully it fits with no more issues!

Think we found a spot for the coolant tank!

And these showed up yesterday :) Not bad for the price. They are the Late Model Resto SVE S1 seats...500 for seats and tracks. I said, why the f not and bought em.

You will have to let us know how those SVE seats fit in the car, and how they feel. I've been looking at those for my 98 Cobra. Only thing I don't like is the red stitching. I wish they would make a version with all black stitching.

Thanks man.

I went through the whole thread before commenting. Guess I overlooked the a/c. Super cool build. Would love to do a swap like this some day.

I may not have posted pictures just of the a/c. Its hard to see in the other pictures because I painted everything black. so it kind of blends in!

cant wait to see vids of it running...awesome work. Is the brake reservoir really that close to the head or does it just seem like it in that one pic?

Those seats look great. Let us know how the seating position feels and the weight of them.
