Wow, ok so the majority are blowing holes in another true story. So why couldn't have the car just sat waiting on an engine like described. Lets see, my 92 shows up in some of the official records as me being the first owner in 98. Ok, I repeat my 1992 shows me as its first registered owner in 1998. That's 6 years of mystery status. It had 10,200 miles on it when I bought it in 98. Some of you all have tried to poke holes in my story too. You all have to remember, Ford had a historical record of not documenting low, special build projects very well. I am old enough to be able to remember and cite several such examples.

You are right you are the all knowing. How do you know this is a true story heck you cant prove what you say so why come here saying this is a true story.:bash:

Speed & Bull...I make 3 logical comments on a thread and you 2 have to be rude and obnoxious with your comments. Grow up and be adults. I am not asking you to like me or agree with me, but you can be a little less crude with what you have to say. All I ask.

Nothing I posted was rude or obnoxious go back and read it or here this is exactly what I said.

"You are right you are the all knowing. How do you know this is a true story heck you cant prove what you say so why come here saying this is a true story."

Everything I stated above is a fact.

I don't dislike you but I definitely don't agree with you, as does anyone who objectively looks at your claims. You have provided no valid information, other than a poorly faked SVT certificate. You said you would provide further proof but have not done so, unless I have missed it. If you car is as you claim it is, you'd call SVT and get a real certificate and provide the missing details. I believe your car is a low mileage fox that has been spun into a special edition to increase sale price and you realize it but can't admit it. Everyone makes mistakes, perhaps it is time for you to grow up and be an adult (as you said earlier) and admit the true nature of your car.

Ok, I don't know if what was reported on this 79 is true, but you and others are certainly a little quick to pass judgment. There is always the slight possibility it is true, that is basically what I was relaying.

You were, based on other postings in my general direction, being rudely sarcastic when you said "you are right you are the all knowing". Everything I posted about my Fox Convertible is true per what I was told verbally by two different and independent sources and according to the documentation I was provided. Now since I am one to try and get along within a given group, I have pretty much stopped referring to my car as a Cobra on SVTP and refer to it as a Fox Convertible. It is what it is, a dealer promotional Mustang done with the permission of SVT which is what I have always said and some seem to have selective reading and want to argue the point. Other promotional cars like mine are out there and I have personally seen one other, again like I have said in the past. Ford has in the past and will probably continue to do in the future produce and allow dealers to produce very limited special Mustangs with a very short almost nonexistent paper trail. I know of several examples that when one showed up the Mustang enthusiast population at large said no way, no such thing. Some time later, other examples come forward and the special model becomes accepted.

Just saying that I know of many low build Fords that the enthusiast population out there said "oh no such thing" only to have it turn out that there were some produced after all.

If your car was produced with the blessing of SVT, your certificate would reflect that. It seems the one you've posted is a fake and you haven't done anything to dispel it. I'll go 50% of the cost of a certificate if you buy one. Verbal, non-paper trail claims lend little credibility to the validity of the item in question. I have trouble believing that 20+ years after the production of your car, there is no real proof (only anecdotal claims) of its existence. The internet is world wide, someone would have come forward with definitive proof by now, imo. BTW, who produced the promotion edition if it wasn't Ford/SVT?

Thanks 65Fastback and you are very correct. Three such examples right quick. I remember when no one in the enthusiast population knew anything about the High Country Specials, turned out they exist. The 1972 Sprint Convertibles, I remember when a guy sent a letter and a photo into either HotRod or Car Craft magazine about his Sprint Convertible. There were letters for months about how he faked his car. Turns out there were a handful produced, mostly for a parade. A friends 1970 1/2 Falcon, equipped with a 429 and Super Drag Pack option with a Bench Seat. Numbers match on his car and we actually saw one other very similar Falcon at Darlington Dragstrip that the guy had bought new and used it only on the strip from day one. I know of some other newer examples but before I use them as examples I am trying to verify the information.

My "New SVT Owner" letter does briefly speak of the promotion. My dealership "Thank You" letter speaks of the promotion in great detail. The window sticker I have lists the Cobra promotion items as a package but it is in very poor condition. These things, again, were sent to me by my cars original owner, someone who had not owned the car in about 5 years when I contacted him.

Now as for me, I am currently continuing to recover from a stroke and a heart attack that nearly killed me. I had my stroke the end if July and spent almost a month in the hospital. I am just now able to begin to get around. I have not been able to do nor was I inclined to dig out these items to scan and post. I may do an Elitestangs Meet-up tomorrow but I wont be driving my Fox, my brother in law will be driving it as I am still unable to drive per my DR's orders.

Really weird.

It's actually not that weird, this guy has been trying to pump people up to trying to find it so that when he put it out on eBay like it is now he will get all sorts of action on it......but in reality is only making himself look bad.

Ford Mustang Cobra | eBay

There is quite a bit of talk going around the forums on what a shady seller he is, along with changing the mileage back on this 82GT as well. from 69k down to 29k

''Mint Cond 1982 Mustang GT 5 0 29K Orig Miles | eBay

Buyers beware!

Just wanted to give you guys some insight.
