People are unreal in here. Omg my engines gonna blow up. We have sold a ton of new gts and bosses. Zero #8. Dont put sone hack tune in. If your that worried about what factory calibration you have, go get the pcm flashed at the dealer. There are tsbs for the oil reminder and cold piston rattle. Stop acting like women. If your cars stock who cares, its warranty. If you mod thats the chance you take. Ford spent millions on the development of these cars and stop crying over nothing.

thanks for the support guys, called up mmr and few other places it seems like i have options like their aluminator short block killer. And a few other local places for a few g's depending on how my block looks.

Gonna call livernois to see what that short block is about, though it does seem like a pricier option. and i wonder what i should do in terms of compression ratio, i dont see myself going for boost for a while now after this hiccup, but it cant hurt to be built and ready for the power.

You need to give Mustang Performance Racing ( Tim Eichhorn ) a call at 561-588-0188. Awesome engine builder and he is local to you. He built mine.

Ya know, I've read this thread and the other one linked in here about the #8 (In both you regurgitate the same crap).

Do you always go through life thinking if you cover your eyes and don't see the problem that it doesn't exist?

These cars are only warrantied to 36K...mine is stock and just turned over 36K....no more warranty for me. Now what?

If you don't believe there is a problem with the #8, cool...then there isn't a reason for you to come in here banging the same drum.

Powertrain warranty is 60K, just saying.

Is it?
I'll have to go back and check. If I'm wrong, I certainly do apologize but that still doesn't detract from the point I was trying to make.

***Edit
Yep...60K...my mistake.

I sleep happy every night about my car

I'm just stirring the pot for those who are scared to even drive their car now or do anything to it.

OP admitted to having an issue and not doing anything about it, but instead make it worse and then lead to a blown motor. Not to Bash on OP at all because the situation does suck, but the first sign of any kind of power loss/odd behavior id have Shaun/my tuner on the phone and logging to see whats going on, not still beat on the car and add more parts to the mix and possibly give way for causing more factors to what went wrong.

OP i hope everything works out for you, but I don't see why anyone would be scared to drive their car/mod it after your issues when there is a strong possibility it could have been resolved/prevented earlier on.

Shaun,

Thanks for posting all of that information. I had a '11 5.0 back in 2011 that had the #8 issue and I was SOL. This was back when it first started coming around. I now have a different 5.0 and have been skeptical to get a tune again. I will be going with Bama (for the warranty since im paranoid, and its driving distance from me) when I get around to doing this. I feel better about it now.

Cheers,

Dan

I thought the power train warranty was ZERO once tuned.

You should I mean your car is barely faster than stock!! Go beat on it. Lol.

I believe he was asking, if you don't modify it, what should you do once warranty is done? Probably in reference to the "well if you are stock and it goes just warranty it" talk.

What is the best choice to avoid it after the warranty is done? Get it tuned to avoid the lean condition?

The post of the powertrain warranty had no reference to a tune or not, just to correct the post about warranty for the engine being done at 36k. Having a tune and getting something covered is a totally different conversation which I don't care to bring into this thread Hahaha.
