I found a great deal on a slightly used Magnaflow Competition Cat-Back...
the guy has 2000mi on it asking $399!! (He sold his car)

Anybody heard this system in person!? I am trying to figure out if its gonna give me the sound Im looking for and youtube videos are hard to read...

I have the After Cat JBA H-pipe w/GT500's & NO resonators....Im looking for just a tad bit louder, with NO rasp! But not as loud as the ROUSH AB.

Is this what Im looking for?

if ur looking for a tad bit louder and some performance i would suggest an o/r hpipe with cat deletes... mine sound sick, no drone, no rasp... but idk... that is a hell of a deal on a magnaflow catback, even if u dont like it, you could sell:shrug:

I'll take those GT500s if you dont mind shipping
Dude shipping will be more expensive than if you just bought them from AM or somewhere who ships free. PLUS, I have to get the cat-back system on first to see which I like. I will post Videos...I told the guy I will take them.

Worst case I sell the setup!?
Stay tuned!

I have this catback on my car paired with long tubes and off-road x-pipe. It is free flowing and loud. FYI If you are lowered it is very likely the over axle pipes will hit the axle when the suspension is compressed.

Yeah I have been reading stories online now abotu the horrors of this cat-back....Drone, Over axle clearance issues. I called the guy and backed outta the deal.
Think I will just stick with my current setup for now I guess. (GT500's and JBA H NO resonators)

Might have to just wait till after Mustang week next year to hear some different setups in person to see what I like!

My car doesn't drone very bad at all with the x-pipe but has rasp. There is not much room over the axle for a 3" pipe and when your lowered 1.5-2". I ended up crushing the pipe in the bend to gain some more axle clearance.

My car with the lethal O/R x and the magnaflow AB is LOUD, but all in all I am getting the performance out of the car I was looking for and with the Db level you cant even hear the centri!

My buddy had issues with this setup and the over axle pipes hitting the axle under suspension compression when lowered on sportlines.

i think the problem is not the fit but the diameter of the over axle pipes, borla is one of the only companies that keep the pipes at 2.75 inches and never had any complaints, while most people with any other brand say that the pipes hit when lowered, i just threw on a pypes catback 2 weeks ago and im lowered on H&R super sports and i have no issues so far... besides the rasp and drone, but then again im running cat deletes and o/r hpipe

I used to have the Magnaflow Competition cat-back on my car. It was definitely loud, especially since I have an O/R X, as well. Overall though, I liked the way it sounded. However, my chief complaint with this cat-back was the clearance of the over-axle pipes. My car is lowered and the axle would smash into the over-axle pipes on just about every bump I went over during suspension compression! It was really annoying and embarrassing driving around town...

I ordered the 13 GT version of the catback the other day, should have it this weekend and will report on wither or not i have clearance issues over the axle. I thought i read somehwhere the revised version for 13 was suppose to help with the clearance issue. We will see

Hey Doug, sorry I didn't answer your text. In the Boss I'm getting slight drone only in 6th and around 18-2k but its not bad. The Bassani's I had were terrible. The sound is great and with the cats still on they wont be obnoxious. You're more than welcome to stop on over if you want to make the 45 minute drive over here. We're all headed to Charlotte this weekend if you're down, I know with the newborn you may be staying put.

I just ordered the same one as you. I can't wait to see how it actually sounds in person. I called Magnaflow to see what exactly was changed on the 13 version and the guy said the 11-12 version stuck out the end to much so they changed something with the hangers. I asked if anything was done about lowering the car and the pipes hitting and he said no they make these exhaust for factory height cars.
