I agree with you. I have been around this stuff for over 25 years, plugs dont just oil foul like that for no reason. Hopefully the OP does the right thing.

The right thing? Sorry, but yall need to get off your high horses. I changed the plug, did a compression test, changed the oil and have over 500mi on it since the code got thrown with no issues. No noises, nvh, smoke, oil consumption, anything. No trying to start shit, but the whole "right thing", thing is very annoying. I've done everything in my power to make sure the car is right, and as its been driving as of late I'd say it is. Only thing i have left i could do, is pull the car apart to check for possible damage, but why would I if its running alright?

So for all those that thing the number 8 went. What proof do you have it is bad? With out a tear down there is no 100% way to say the number 8 is gone. All we are doing is just guessing. Good luck anyway.

borescope it. That will tell you if there is any damage to the cylinder and or piston. dont have to open the motor and you'll know for sure.

Not that i have to justify to you why I'm selling it, but I'm not saving money keeping it, i owe money on it, and with a deployment coming up in a little less than a year I'd like to free up some money and live a bit more bill-free. That alright?
If its not your money or your car or your choice why worry? Lol
Glad I'm not the only one that thinks like that!

So, OP has a tuned car that throws a number 8 misfire code with a spark plug that looks like this:
20121014_170258.gif

Yeah. Bad gas is all that caused it. Look, I can see some bad gas on the threads.. oh that's oil, never mind. I wouldn't be able to sleep pawning that off on somebody else as a good motor.

Again, aside from pulling the motor for a possible issue when its currently running fine, what is left?

Most of the piston failures I've seen pics of have broken the ringlands on the side of the piston, but they're encapsulated by the cylinder and just along for the ride so to speak. When the piston is removed, the pieces fall out.
That cyl being down on compression says a lot, a borescope may tell the tale but only in the form of cylinder wall scoring. You won't see the broken area with a borescope.

They were all within 10psi of eachother, i always thought that was acceptable?

this is correct. but the OP stated i think both number 5 an 8 were a little lower than the rest but still within ford spec.

My car is always for sale, I've talked about it for awhile now, and put some bs ads out there on local forums awhile back with a few nibbles. It really seems like you're grasping for things for no reason. And where in this thread have i said anything about what the car is priced at? Few pages back i said the car would be sold for a little less just as a cushion in case there is something actually wrong.
