Considering getting some 67's to upgrade from my Precision 61's.
What turbo is deemed "the best"? Brand, make, model, etc...
Thanks!

how hard are you pushing the 61's? Car better have a th400 behind it....
more rwhp does not mean faster and more fun, think supra power band
Whats your build consist of? I have twin 66s but it required a lot of extra $$$ parts.
I run Garrett 67mm turbos. P-trim with .82 A/R housings.
They are journal bearing and not ball bearing style.
On my 5.4 they are a perfect match and with my 4R70 they spool quickly.
Recently on 18 pounds and 93 octane it made 925rwhp thru the 4R70 with 3.55 gears and 305-35-18 drag radials.
Such as what?
It's a pretty extensive build.

The built shortblock I already had isn't going to cut it and is currently being pieced out. This is what's being built to take its place.
Teksid Aluminum Block
JE Forged Pistons 9.1:1
Manley Forged H-Beam Rods
Eagle Forged Crank
Melling Billet Oil Pump
Canton 8qt. Pan with Windage Tray & Baffle
ARP 2000 Hardware
Top end is going to include the stock heads, modified springs, modified valves, and '98 Cobra cams (more aggressive, higher revving, & better suitable for the turbo application).
Now THAT is what I'm talking about!
Link to build thread or any thread with your setup list please?
If you have stock heads you can pretty much forget putting 67s on there. With such large turbos on a small engine with no headwork you are going to have SERIOUS turbo lag, and you wont nearly reach your goal before running out of RPMs.
Let me know when you plan on selling your 61's....

With an auto and turbo(s), bigger usually does mean faster, lol.more rwhp does not mean faster and more fun, think supra power band
Yes, there are many people pushing 1000rwhp with stock heads on C16. You can hardly compare this to pump gas numbers.Good call. Definitely something to consider.
There are a handful of people making nearly 1000 RWHP with 61's and non-ported heads currently though.
I know Israel specifically made 945 RWHP on c16 through a hot side, '01 Cobra intake, and 61's. I'm sure the heads will flow efficiently enough, but porting them would definitely be ideal.
On that note, who does the best port work now-a-days?
