Sorry man... no auto! Although it might be faster if it were an auto (so I've heard)

Well I hear mixed reviews on that. I don't regret getting the auto, but it seems that the pro-cal doesn't do much for them and that its a waste for autos. From what I've read it seems that an aftermarket one is the way to go for autos.

I have a 12 auto with a procal. I have not run this car at the track, but I'm going this saturday, I'll do a tune/non-tune comparison if I have enough time.

Ebrow---how does it feel as far as low end torque and throttle response? Did your shifts get any crisper? I guess what I'm wanting to know is was the pro-cal a noticeable difference.

Cant give a real accurate comparison, I drive the car maybe once a week and haven't really driven it all that hard (900 miles or so on the car). Both tunes spin the stock tires from a stop.

From what others have said on this forum, its worth about .2 in the 1/4 with an auto. That roughly translates to 20whp, which is what is advertised.

It does not change shift firmness, it seems like it may shift a little bit higher at WOT. Cant really respond as to throttle response, I don't have a large enough sample with the stock tune.

I'm going to dyno the car tomorrow with/without procal and with/without the k&n. Car also has gt500 axlebacks (not taking those off) The K&N dyno thread makes me pretty interested. Going to have to work through the auto on the dyno issues though. I will post results after.

Here is my graph and both runs are on 93 Octane. Same Dyno/operator but different days.

Does anyone know if the guys at FRPP have cleaned up their tune?

Quote from another ProCal Thread:
No shop has posted their #8 tune solution. Just like no one posts what they change to make power in their tunes.

I've wanted to post the actual cause for some time but have been requested by other tuners to keep it quiet. I have told a handful of customer tuner buddies what I've found to be the cause. I've also posted hard data on the SCT forums, as well as contacted Ford Racing on the issue. I won't post the actual tune changes...I might as well send my tunes to every shop at that point. The data I've posted on various forums is more than enough for the tuning community (coupled with their own experience and data) to find their own solutions.

However, I do want it to be known that the #8 problem is in the Factory Tune.
As tuners, we can make it worse, or calibrate out the offending tables. It's up to each tuner on how to approach the problem.

What thread is that, as it seems to relate to the #8 problem from the early tuning of the 11' cars.

Click the arrow in the circle next to the quoted poster's screen name. It brings you to the post in the original thread. Handy feature.

But it was the "I sipped the AED coolaid" thread.

I just called FRPP and they indicated that the 2013 power pack will be available within the next week. Check the website for updates.

My findings after a couple days, different gas (1/2 previously and added half tank of another), and about 3-400 miles.

Gas mileage way down to about avg what I was getting before but driving alot more spirited as its hard to keep my foot off the go pedal since it now goes. Notice the torque big time. Ping is virtually gone with just a slight split second ping at around 4k one time this am (also 73 degrees out).

On second thought, can any tuners use the frpp tune as a base tune and go from there or?

how much worse?

and to my understanding the ProCal isn't like a SCT, etc device where you can overwrite tunes.
