Great Write up for those interested in customer service and tune quality across the board.
I started with a Bama Tune and had zero issues or tune revisions needed. I do see you have a 12' and i know there were a few more tables with the 12" ECU so that could be why you needed so many revisions before it was right.

Unfortunatly, nothing is better than a custom tune. If there is problem, drive to the shop and get squared away and not have to wait on an e-mail or phone call back.

Each initial tune is sent out "plain jane" until we get datalog, AF and driving style feed back. We need to see how the tune is functioning in the vehicle before we dial it in. Each tune is customized for what each customer wants but there has to be a starting point..And the starting point is going to be on the softer side not the harder side. That is always how we have approached remote tuning via email.

The tune in my 2011 GT makes the car useless on street tires above 1/3 throttle and anyone who has ridden in the car will tell you that car rips pavement.

Why would you put your car threw so many canned tunes? You could have spent the money on a proper DYNO tune?

Chris

Some people dont have the luxury of a reputable tuner they trust close to them. He could have also saved money by sticking with one tuner and working with him until the tune was optimalized to his satisfaction. There is usually no charge for dialing in a tune.

You can get a custom tune via email too. Did you mean custom dyno tune? and again I will say that dyno tuning is not an option for some people.

I have dealt with Monty for a long while and he has stepped up to to do tunes some guys don't wanna do remotely, for anyone looking at the tunes for life make sure you look at the list that Bama will not tune.

so far Monty has done

a couple 11 5.0s with various mods ( Steeda CAI, Lethal X-pipe, Magnaflow axle-back put down 404 right off the interstate onto the rollers)
e85+N20 twin turbo tune

I didn't need a dyno to tell some tunes were better than others.

When I had my manual trans car I had several tunes.

First was the Bama tune on an otherwise stock car.
Next was the Bama tune with the offroad H
Next was a CAI and the updated tune sucked in the driveability department.

I switched to BBR and that tune rocked out hard.
When I put the Boss mani on I tried Bama again and had all sorts of issues, I went back and forth and it never got resolved

Now that I picked up an auto car I gave Bama another try and I love the tune. The only complaint is that the shifts are a bit harsh at times but it is their aggressive tune.

As far as dyno tunes go, there are a bunch of solid tuners in Chicagoland but I don't know how much experience they have with the new motor and trying to tune the trans may be something they are not familiar with either.

If I can get one of the '11 owners to agree I can try to do a BAMA-JMS-??? dyno comparison

I would use mine but since it did not come with a power adder from Ford it is on the NO-Tune list

That's awesome. Can you forward any links or tell us more about the twin turbo 5.0 setup. Who has it? That's something I'd like to look into

Take it easy

I was asking onefstpny. I know yours were emailed.

Not really comparing email to a dyno tune, infact i liked my lund tune alot until i contacted him and found out my tune was an earlier tune and the knock sensors were adjusted. I waited for weeks to get an updated tune and finally decided to take my business else where.

The JMS tune pulled really hard but i believe the timing was 28-29* with the knock sensors set back to factory settings. So i wasnt happy with the timing that high and hoping the knock sensors would pull timing before issues occured, i decided to go to the FRPP tune anf get my warranty back and im very pleased with it and wish i would have done the Ford Racing tune first.

Sorry the twin turbo car isn't a Coyote, it is stroked, cammed 2v I daily drive. I am hoping to have him do a RS3 tune here soon it only put down 430 to the wheels with the Roush tune but it was running at 9.5afr. The car has had so many little issue we are waiting to not give the Stealership any reason to not warranty any of them

Other than warranty I can't imagine the Ford Racing tune coming close to any of the after market tunes out there...
Why do you like the Ford tune so much?

when comparing tunes you also need to consider the power under the curve, a car could be down on peak HP and still run faster due to a better power through out the entire RPM range, sometime the SOTP can tell that power easier than a couple HP up top
