Going to make VIN/ID tag, would anyone be interested in one?

VERY interested, It would be for a GT500 though, not that it matters. They should come without holes drilled in them. CobraBob on this site worked with Gary Loat doing the 03/04 cobra and Bullit badges. you couls probably get the dimentions from him as he has stopped making them.

To answer the last few questions, they will NOT have any holes drilled, will leave that up to the end user. Will be making two different-sized ones : the first will be design 1 or 4, which are the same except for the sizing of the Cobra emblem, and even though the 4th design doesn't say "______ of ______" like the 1st one, it would when made.

The second one will be like the pic I posted above of the Steeda emblem, however in order to make it fit more info like my design above, it would not be centered, which doesn't bother me but wanted to see what others would want.

Lambeau - They will be sent with the info stamped already, I just don't know cost-wise whether I should just get the stamping letters/numbers and do them myself rather than pay someone else to do each one. However, either way I eventually go, they WILL come stamped already so people would just need to send in their VIN, build date, build #, and what number they would like used for the "of _____" field.

Ok so after doing more research, I will just buy the stamp tooling myself and stamp them myself before sending them out. I will def be posting pics of the tags once I get the first one produced, and will post pics of it stamped with my info to give an idea of what the final deal would look like.

I do need feedback on one thing though, and that is the tag that would go over the shifter bezel, as you can see above in the pic I posted of a Steeda Mustang. Would people want the tag small enough to fit just like the one above, or would it be ok with everyone if they had a tag that was longer and therefore would be off-center? I think it would look good, but before plunking down more money on a stamping, I want to make sure. However, that doesn't mean I will delay the first underhood tag to be made, so once I get it smaller and sized properly, with large enough fields for the stamped numbers/letters, it will be off to the printers.

Per a mod, I am going to check with admin on this, because even though I am in effect "selling" these, I am selling them at whatever it costs to produce them. In reality, I'm prolly losing money on gas and time spent, but I think the end result will be worth it.

I wouldn't care if the tag by the shifter was made longer if it meant a higher quality looking end result. All I would do is center it in that space between the trac switch and the right edge of the shifter bezel.

Word of warning. you are infringing on Fords copyright to the stuff you have on those proposed tags. If they get wind of it you WILL be sued they have done it before and are still doing it. you might want to check and be sure you are on solid legal footing before doing stuff like this.

you need to brush up on your law man... the ford emblem is copyrighted, the cobra I believe is also copyrighted. Hell now I have half tempted to send a link to ford just to prove to you clowns that I am right. but there are probably other ways to do the same thing without that if I decide to spend the time. ALso you may want to check with SID the site owner to be sure he is ok with you selling these on the site

I have already sent a PM to admin and as of today it has been unanswered for 4 days now. I'm sure the Terminator guys didn't get Ford's blessing when they made their plates, and mine aren't even being sold for a profit at all, just the actual cost to have them made; I'm not even getting paid for time and gas for going to the plaque maker, let alone time for designing the plaques in PS7.0

I didn't realize that someone would get a case of sandy vagina and decide to threaten me with being a tattle-tale and go tell Ford just to prove someone else wrong, internet no less.

Without going into detail, my finances and assets are structured in such a way that I'm not worried about losing anything should Ford decide to sue me, but don't want the hassle of dealing with it should someone at Ford decide to go after me because some bitch with too much time on their hands told on me.

I'll still be making one - actually two now, since I like the interior one - for my own car, but I guess that's now all that will be made. My apologies to everyone that was interested in having one, although feel free to thank RDJ for being a boy scout on the whole thing. At least you'll know that he'll read it since you know he has plenty of time on his hands.

If anyone is still interested please feel free to PM or email me, and I'd be happy to send the PSD files for the so folks can get one made themselves locally ... albeit for a lot more than $20 each. You can also PM or email me so I can make a list of people want one, so if things change or I'm able to do it w/o getting tattled on, I can let you know.

No that's definitely NOT what you said, and I wish I would have quoted your post, but oh well. In fact, I can see that you edited your post above and added in the "half" part of what is now "half tempted" . Then you changed the rest of that sentence to say "if I decide to spend the time" instead of what you originally said. Yea, I guess I'm the one with the sandy vagina if that means I say its a dick move to tattle on me to Ford. It has nothing to do with reading comprehension, you got your message across quite clear, but then bitched out and edited your post and accuse everyone else of not understanding you.
