If dropping that cash on a blower I would require the following.

Shipped via UPS
Fully insured for face value
Packaged by UPS themselves

That may all cost an extra $20, but saves all sorts of problems.

sorry but if I were to drop that kind of cash on a blower I wouldnt buy from someone whos car looked like that under the hood. IMO it just shows how the vehicle and parts of the vehicle are taken car of and something that dirty under the hood makes it beleiveable the blower was damaged to begin with. Once again thats just my opinion. Hoefully you guys get it worked out and both parties can be happy

I had ups damage a stereo receiver once, they said my packing wasn't up to standards but that they would insure it "this time".

what I do now is have them package anything over $300... I rather pay $$$ and cover my ass.

They even put stickers on the box "packaged by ups" lol probably so employees know to be "more careful"

Exactly my point! They can't make excuses when they packaged it themselves. I shipped 6 jars of salsa from TX to FL. I paid about $15 for them to packages, including the cost of shipping. All 6 arrived just fine.

looks like the blower was packaged in a brown paper bag from the local liquor store

two options that i see fit

#1--buyer gets blower fixed at the seller's expense, and deals with not having a perfect, new blower

#2--buyer sends blower back (at his expense) to seller for a complete refund

talk it over and pick one. this is why i buy brand new parts every time.

I sent a set of heads through ups. I admit they weren't packaged the best they could have been. But I had ups package them. I insured them and what do u know, it looked like ace ventura got ahold of them. The package was over 150lbs! Long story short I filed a claim. It took longer than I wanted but I got the buyer almost all his money back! Always over package. I know I do know

I'm not trying to be an ass but I read every post in this thread and I still don't know if the blower was insured or not.

As far as everyone blaming the seller on packaging the blower, it sounds to me like the package was destroyed and then re-taped by USPS!

Thank you, where was that posted>??? I went back and read all the posts from buyer and seller and STILL don't see it.
I see one post that isn't English that may imply that it was not insured but I don't know.

I would say the seller as well. I bought a used Whipple off here last year and the seller built a wood box and bolted the whipple down so it wouldn't shift around. For that kind of money you would think he could put a little effort into making sure it arrives in the same condition it shipped.

THIS!

I crated my ported Eaton when I shipped it.

A twinscrew/roots SC is far too heavy and bulky for a box to survive no matter how badass your bubble wrap and duct tape skills are.

You can also use a Tote too, I did this for shipping a transmission. Got a bunch of 2x2 foam strips I used to surround and hold the tranny in place and just duct taped the hell out of the tote. 150lbs and UPS took it no problem.

You having a bad night again? You seem to have a lot of those.

I wonder if you posted that because of your hatred toward me or if I'm wrong and it was towards everyone... but it was never confirmed if it was insured by either the buyer or seller as far as I know. It's just assumed that it wasn't insured. If I'm wrong please point it out and I will apologize to you and anyone else.

I bought a used blower from Joe(RIP) @ Chicane a few years ago. He sent it UPS and cut a piece of 1/4 inch plywood to bolt the blower down on. Then wrapped the sh*t outta it. Then boxed it in a Tremec trans box. Delivered to me in perfect condition.
