I made that thread after seeing this one. To be honest I didnt think the 03/04 would win but I should have known it would. To me a car that comes from the factory ready for just about anything you throw at it wouldnt wow me as much as the car that didnt. Im surprised the 99/01 came last and expected it to be first or second only to the sn95's.
Haters can hate all they want. We could have kept and fixed up the 03 we bought at a steal (7500). But I felt it was a better choice to put its guts in our 01'!! One of the things I like better about the 01's is the gauges. I hate the 03-04 clusters.
I've got a video of our 01 with 4.30's, 100k on the clock, exhaust and intake running a 03 Mach 1 with 13k on it with 4.10's, intake/exhaust.
The cars were door to door until top of 4th when the Cobra ran outa RPM/gear then the Mach creeped away.

I personally think cobra snakes are one of the most aggressive looking symbols out of all racing cars. I Love the way these cars look and the snakes on them make them so bad @$$!
I think 99/01 Cobras look too plain, like everyone said. They tossed on a V6 hood instead of designing a Cobra specific one..nice work SVT!!
IMO the best looking 99-04 new edge cars go like this: 03/04 Cobra > 03/04 Mach 1, 99/01 Cobra > 99-04 GT > 99-04 V6
I will say that I HATE mach 1 interiors. I hate the seats, clusters, everything. All looks super gay to me. Of course this is just a personal opinion.

Uhm, that's just not true. What you're saying here is that something that is non-adjustable is somehow better than something that is adjustable?

I suppose if your talking about a fully built Griggs / MM SRA vs. a stock irs that would be true, but then that's not really an accurate comparison now is it? Like kwik03dsg said, build up both equally and you still can't deny the fact that having camber and toe adjustment in the rear will make any straight across comparisons moot in the hands of equally competent drivers in any course that has actual turns, changing elevations, off-camber dynamics, etc.
The Mach is better at some stuff, but lets not get carried away.
Alright, let's get this straight it was a Cobra hood FIRST and Ford then decided to use it on 2003/2004 V-6's (thanks Ford!). It's far from aggresive but getting the idea from a thread on here I was able to turn mine into a somewhat functional heat extractor hood which makes me dislike it a lot less. I think saying the 99/01 resembles the GT is being too kind it definitely more closely resembles the V-6. The stock Cobra wheels are meh, eaisly fixed. The stock ride height is ridiculous it looks to me like New Edge Cobras sit even higher than the GT. This is (IMO) is the biggest factor in making the Cobra look like doodoo. The Mach 1 had a lowered stance from the factory just like the Terminator. A good set of wheels and lowering springs make a world of difference in looks. I think my '01 looks great I wouldn't say aggresive but it still looks mean. I've gotten plenty of waves from passing Machs and Terminators. Although to be fair I have 03/04 Cobra chin spoiler on my 01 bumper and they are probably mistaking me for an 03/04 and then kicking themselves when they look in the sideview and realized they just waved at a POS New Edge.

+1.. the mach looks like a gt with a ram air hood scoop.. so hate on cobras all yallwant.. i dont hate machs, but cobras are way sicker.. you put a cobra vert in front of a hot chick and youput a mach ibn front of a hot chick, shes either gonna say "hayy look at that pretty drop top" or "whats so special about that mustang, it looks normal" at least the cobra gets attention from all crowds.. its a known name.. but hey, no disrespect to the mach.. its a great car, but the argument that one looks like a v6 or a gt is a moot point because the other one looks like a gt.. just sayin :??:

It was an Manual Mach 1, i honestly tought he might be right next to me but i blew his doors away! Needless to say he was on a 275 rear tire vs. 245 i had. As far as da's i dont remember it was a while back, but of course it was the same. Man i wish i could find the video to show it off.
I have to disagree. I think the best looking spoilers for the NE 'stangs are the Termi's and the '99-'00's (but you have to move the '99-'00 one back for it to look good.)

If this race took place in cali then he really needs some seat time, because I ran the same 1/8 mile times in 7200 DA air. FYI, my car dynoed 220 rwhp bone stock AT THIS altitude. Thats how much power we lose up here.
Stock for stock an 03/04 manual mach is faster than a 99/01 cobra. Once modding starts then its anyones game after that. Of course, just like any other car, its only going to be as fast as its driver.
