I edited the post. I would call it a mid-west bias.
And probably he never beat Florida and Woodson singlehandley beat OSU.
Help me out here because I'm failing to see your point. Woodson was 1st in voting in every single region. He also won the Walter Camp award, Bednarik award, Jim Thorpe award, Nagurski trophy, Sporting News Player of the Year, and just barely lost out on the Maxwell award. He definitely deserved the Heisman. :shrug:
EDIT: He was 1st in voting in every region except the south. You want to say there's a mid-west bias? Every region across the country had Woodson at #1 but the south had the Tennessee star at #1. Maybe you need to rethink your bias comment.

The NE, Midwest, etc are all big 10 fan boys and fail to see that the teams are awful. Just like the Big East in basketball. If you check my link, Peyton won the South region.

The Big 10 sucks because they continue to try and play 1975 football in 2010. At least Michigan tried to modernize.
Woodson was a freak that year. No doubt he deserved that award. There'll never be a corner in CF that single handedly dominated games like he did.
