I have noticed that with this mod, right when I shut the car off I get some weird vac-type sputtering sounds around where I made the changes. Is this normal? I don't believe that I have a vac leak.

from your description i would probably say its the boost in the intake being bleed off by the bypass valve when your shutting the car off. when the engine is no longer running the air has to go somewhere so its let out into the atmosphere.

I read this entire thread TWICE. Just to be clear...I have a 2.2 KB...anything different about this mod? I also have an aftermarket boost gauge...still not sure what this means for me and this mod. Any help here?

Should not be any different. Your bypass valve is in a different location. However, you still connect the upper port on the bypass valve, the frps sensor, and the boost gauge to the lower vacuum / boost port on the back of the blower. I have heard that the twin screws are already set up like this. However, I can't be sure on that.

I just came across this thread and want to do it, but a little nervous about the extra boost thats going to be produced in the higher rpms. Do you guys think it will be enough to make the car run lean up top? I dont really want to get on the dyno to check since my tuner is over an hour away. Ive got a hand held predator tuner so I could always add a little fuel if needed.

It looks as though yours have been removed by the previous owner. I'm sure (or at least I hope) they turned them off in a tune.

Did ur car come with a tuner or a chip?

Your car is missing the egr valve, dpfe sensor and boost bypass accuator. You could get these parts and install them and then do the mod listed in this thread.

But before you do all that do u have a check engine lamp on?

The car ran like crap when I got it. Never got a programmer with the car. Bought a new programmer, now I can't the car to idle, stay, running, or even give it gas to keep it running.

This comment helps how?

Sorry I was not trying to down the car. I just spoke my mind. Sometimes it's a good thing and sometimes its a bad thing. I'm not one to sugar coat things. Again sorry if I offended anyone.

It just seems that who ever worked on the car before left a lot of loose ends under the hood so to say.
