I have always wanted to do a LSX swap in one of these cars.

Imagine a 408 F1-R swap in this puppy.

- Think this weighs in at 2800 lbs.

No this is just a modified RX7 a friend has.

Think it puts down like 400rwhp ?

I don't like that body kit, stock Rx-7's look great IMO.

There's an RX7 in the Sports Compact Car Magazine USCC article this month with a new C6 Z06 engine in it.

Am I the only one who finds the idea of putting a big, heavy, 2 valve, cam in the valley 1950s technology tractor engine in such a peice of engineering art revolting?:xpl:

Everyone is ga-ga over the Z06, but it makes an astounding 72 horsepower per liter. In the world of motors, that sucks.

That thing is just perfect with it's turbo rotary.

Doesnt matter, its still probably the best motor in production today. A 7 liter V8 that revs and makes power to 7,000rpm (it would go to 8 with a hotter cam) Most exotic car's engines are extremely over rated (for instance I remember seeing a 360 modena with full exhaust, ecu upgrade, cams and it made 320whp) The Z is rough and ready.

Agreed. I hate when people put V8's in these cars. There wont be any rotary powered ones left!

87Mustang, it's a Clifford.

Detroit Doc, why not ask how much horsepower the engine makes per actual pound of weight compared to the RX7 rotary, or maybe per exterior volume dimensions. You might be surprised with what you find.
