Went and picked up this BMR premium K member today. Figured the car could justify having it with what I'm doing. It'll probably ride on the coilovers it has for now, but will likely end up going back to a lowering springs and shock setup. Figured the BMR would be the best bet there.

Too bad you're not local. I have a pair of BMR control arms still in the box I'm not using.

You're like the 3rd person that's said that. Lmao! They either have them in a box collecting dust, or just sold them.

I've posted them up a couple times for sale, but no one has been interested. BMR screwed me over so I'm not really looking to use them.

That sucks. I may be interested in them. Shoot me a PM?

ALSO, I forgot to mention. My lower caged pulley was damaged, and I sourced another. Found it needed bushings. McMaster-Carr had the rubber outlined in another thread to my door next day. Anyone needing the bushings redone, just order this p/n from them. 87235K122.

Well, got the t56 pulled out of my 97 that I swapped awhile back. Unfortunately when I got it out to enjoy it for awhile before I yanked the trans, it suffered a valve train failure. Everything looks OK peering through the ports, but it appears the valves have been floating As well. Would explain why it was low on power past 6k. I'm not upset, as they were junkyard take offs that I got 4 years and 20 thousand miles of enjoyment out of.

Progress has been slow, but adulting has its priorities. Cars aren't one of them...

That being said, i got some great deals here recently!

Quick time t56/mod bellhousing for over half off! (Thanks Kevin and Mook from Junkyard Digs!) They were at Summit Racing over Power Tour, and had seen this in the discount center. Appeared to be a floor display that's been scratched. Kevin sent me a message asking if I'd be interested, to which I said, "for half off, hell yes!"

I then came across a good used McLeod RST 26 spline clutch. While I don't promote using used clutches, I don't want to be breaking in a new build AND a new clutch at the same time. (Voiding what warranty I have on one or the other.)

I did get my headers dropped off to be cerakoted as well. Excited to see how they turn out. Knowing what they looked like when I got them, to when I'll be bolting them on. They were ironically thrown in on the deal I made with my wife's 99 cobra. He said, "either you're taking them, or I'm scrapping them." Her car ended up with a set of ceramic coated Hooker Supercomps and matching X pipe.

Side note, Kevin did get me another random gift. Not sure if any of you watch, "Off The Ranch" by Demolition Matt, but Kevin from JYD and Dalton from Pole Barn Garage were down at Matt's "new" ranch. He picked me up a coffee mug from one of the many derelict buildings.

Well, went to put this Quick Time bellhousing on and check runout...

.015" out on runout... guess it's time to get some damn offset dowels... :cautious: Orrrrr run the stock bellhousing, which I'm strongly considering at the moment. Once I get my headers back from cerakoting, I'll test fit both to see which fits better and allows for more clearance in the future for clutch work.

As for the trans... Hanlon got me set up with one of their 26 spline input shafts! Sucker is pretty beefy! I still need to verify shaft play, but some time with a shim kit and the dial indicator will resolve that.

Ideally I'd like to have the car running before the 24th of August, as there are two local car shows in the area. Ice Cream Cruise being one of them, which thankfully is at the end of September.

I've got some work ahead of me.

Well.... theres been some updates. Some ups... some downs...

I installed the headers at home and tried shoving the engine in from the top. Yeah, that didn't work. Off to the shop I went.

Spent forever waiting on parts to install the trans. Between the input shaft on the trans, the pivot ball, and other misc crap, it took longer than I wanted.

I get the engine put in, and boom exhaust valve hung open... I suspect some things, but long story short, I got the issue resolved.

Get the trans installed, car ready to run, and fight tuning issues. Found a corrupt file out of the gate. Build a new file and this thing runs like a top.

All this is finished a day before a local car show where I took the "best unfinished" trophy.

What a wild few weeks.

My black cobra needs a new clutch. Mind helping your boy out? Haha, it’s gonna be on the back burner for a bit. However if I need to sell it, it will be easier to sell a car that doesn’t have a loud TOB. :D
