So I was just talking to a buddy about 03-04 cobras.

He said that you can get to the fuel hat under the back seats/ trunk.

I have done all my fuel mods and I had to drop the tank(my 03 cobra) and I have never seen a opening for the fuel hat under the back seats.

Verts or couples

Why?

I just want to make sure I didn't over look that we have a opening under the seats for it.

He must be thinking about 05+ Mustangs, made a custom flap on the trunk floor, is just trying to rattle you, and/or is smoking some pretty good stuff.

So I was right. There is no way to get to the fuel hat but to drop the tank.

And ya I was thinking it was 05 and up had the opening under the seat.

It is really stupid that we don't have that provision since almost every other car maker out there has that.:rollseyes If I have time I will make a bead rolled cover and seal for mine when I drop the tank for the new hat.

Our fuel pumps are directly under where spare tires go. I cut out where the pumps are at which is about an 8" x 8" square hole. I went to the wrecking yard and cut out the round portion and installed it with 4 screws holding in place.

Would be kind of cool if someone got a basic access door for the hat. I sure has heck would buy it. I dont know about you guys but even though its just 2 screws its still a PITA to drop the tank.

Just out of curiousity here, Would cutting around the spare tire wheel hull question the structural aspect of the body? The only thing i can think of is the vibration may cause some rattling
