You ever see a over-axle pipe 'clearanced' like this?

Check out this right-side over-axle pipe that was on a 2010 I recently bought.

Here it is on the car:

Here it is removed:

And then I cut it so you can see a cross section:

Damn, that's some serious restriction, don't you think? Interestingly, the car dyno'd 625rwhp with that pipe on there. The other side has a small 'clearance', nothing like this one. I wonder if it will pick up a few ponies with the nice, new mandrel-bent stainless 2.5" Pypes that I am now installing?????

Factory. Should have replaced with 3" though. Doubt you will pick up any power

Yes, I agree about 3". But the mufflers and x-pipe are nice pieces and it's all 2.5", so it's easier (and much cheaper) to just replace the over-axle pipes. I bought two new 'Pypes' pipes and they are very nice, with perfect mandrel bends.......

I mighta thought I'd gain 10hp with the new pipes versus the old crushed ones, especially since they are probably on small side to begin with, but you may be right, maybe no power gain.... thanks

I believe jpc claims 6 up with there version on the 11 and up cars with 2 3/4" factory ones. So you may gain some but I doubt you will "feel" it.
