Diesel engines for very large ships. I used to have a pic of two turbos on a ship that were easily twice the size of the one I posted.

May be, that one is MUCH smaller than a ship turbocharger. Container ship turbos are as big as a house.

That's your opinion...but the people who already have a 106mm and want to go faster would disagree.

i know, thats why they make 114mm turbos, which are also overkill imo. spiro pappas comes to mind. he runs a 106 on a straight race camaro and hasnt maxed out its potential yet.

whats that 122 good to, 2500hp? a 106 or a 114 can do that. tom kempf makes 1800whp through a big stalled glide for example. factor in all the loss and thats roughly 2200hp, almost what that big, non spooling bastard is capable of.

Just the CRANKSHAFT weighs in at 300 tons... Metric ton is 2000 pounds I believe. That is 600,000 pounds.
