Wow, what a difference. I've had the koni yellow and steeda sport springs laying around but haven't had time to install them. Today, I figured I would just throw on the rear shocks and see how much of a difference they would make alone.

Well, I could tell a difference going down my driveway. Starting at full soft, I turned them a half turn. No more pogo'ing! SO much smoother. The whole car just feels more controlled. I really can't believe the difference! My wife can finally rest her head on the headrest without getting beat to death!

So if anybody out there wants to improve the ride of their brembo/track pack mustang, simply install rear koni yellows!

I think he installed the rears only because that's what he had time/means to do.

OP, how do you adjust the shocks? Turn the body or something else? I'm about to start buying some adjustable struts/shocks one by one. Lol

sounds like he didnt have time to do the fronts so just put on the rears for now and will do the fronts when he has more time.

this is exactly what i was hoping to hear, maybe i'll ask Santa(my wife) for some Koni yellows and springs for Christmas!!

Yes. I only installed the koni rear shocks. Everything else is stock for now. When I have more time, I am going to install the steeda sport springs and front koni's.

It only took 1/2 hour to install the shocks. I just wanted to see how much of a difference they would make with the stock suspension before I do the rear springs and front springs/struts.

dirtyd88... to adjust them there is a tab on the top of the shock rod that sticks up through the trunk. A Koni knob comes with them that you set on top and turn. There is about two full turns of adjustability with no detents. I'll take some pictures when I get the chance.

Cool. I didn't know the top of the shock was accessible from inside the trunk. I'm used to my old truck suspension. Lol

Pics would be great. I just wish Koni Yellows were made in black. I don't want a yellow shock/strut under my car with my already red springs. Lol

If you think it is WOW now, wait until you install the rest. I am talking Ferrari level handling.

Finally got around to installing the Steeda sport springs, Panhard bar and Koni Yellow's tonight. I have installed springs/shocks before on other cars and it took me about 5 hours total taking my time with air tools, etc.

It was a pretty easy install. One of the bearings came apart on me, but went back together easily. The slightest bit of sideways pressure on the bearing and it pops apart.

I adjusted the rear panhard bar after putting the rear suspension back together. I jacked the rear end up to approx. ride height, while I still had the car jacked up into the air, and then taped a string with a nut on the end to the fender and measured to the axle. I'll have to double check it tomorrow on the ground, but it looks like it came out ok.

Couple pics of the install. I'll take some better pictures later in the light. Only snapped one as I was walking away from the car.

Car rides similiar to stock but with better shock control. You can tell it's lowered as the up/down motions are a slightly quicker compared to stock I guess due to the shortened ride height.

looks good man. I'm running the koni sports and steeda sport springs too and I love em. Rear end stay a lot more flat/planted when cornering hard now. There's a quick S turn

Where you're coming on Chantilly which is a 55mph road and take a hard right onto Ryan road. It starts off as sort of this flat sweeper but the radius of the turn quickly drops and the elevation jumps up. It's a really fun spot to test for rear end stability or understeer on the FWD cars and the difference on my mustang before/after the shocks/struts/springs was HUGE.

The back end would be all mushy and unpredicatable when it was at its limit and you couldn't really accelerate hard until the corners were done more or less but now the back end stays planted and you can actually put power down the whole time with confidence as it seems you get a bit more communication with the rear end in terms of what it can and can't handle.

From everything I've read, a fayes II watts link will improve it just that much more which is the only other thing I really plan to do with the suspension aside from maybe LCA's with the ajdustable brackets

Ive had my koni yellows paired with frpp k springs on for a few months now and love them. When going on longer trips it helps to set them all the way soft and when going out for some fun driving and setting them firm is a blast.

They might be expensive but they are one of the best feeling shocks and struts ive felt on these cars.

I'm still experimenting with the koni shock settings. The springs are a little firmer feeling, but some of this may be attributed to the shorter length. Some of the short quick dips in the highway, almost lift me out of the seat! I think I have the front at 1.25 turns and the rear near 1 turn to firm. I don't mind the firmness, just don't want any pogo'ing.

I took it to get an alignment today and the camber was acceptable to me. -1.4 and -1.3, without camber/caster plates. Toe was out of course. Glad I got the adjustable panhard bar, because the rear end wasn't centered from the factory anyhow.

Here is a picture I took today with my cell phone. Road was slightly downhill so rear may look a little higher than actually is on the flat.

I really want some Koni Sports but damn are they expensive.

Hello fellow Alabamian! I *may* can get you an employee discount as the company I work for (ITT) owns Koni. They split the company up into 3 divisions though and the fluid dynamics section (which is what Koni is part of) is different from the division I'm in so they may deny me.

I think a full set of the sports ended up running me about $550.

to be totally honest though, if I had to do it over again, I'd have gotten the STR.T's. My car is a DD so the adjustable stuff is virtually irrelevant to me. I got it just cause it was a good deal but in hindsight, that $$ would have better been spent on other stuff like tint or shifter or something.

Cool, that would be helpful! I only want the Yellows since I've read so many positive things about them. My car is also a DD that I like to drag race occasionally but I'd also like it to handle well too (been thinking about going to Barber some).
