Hate see threads like this but it seems this weather brings 5-8 blown motors a year. Low temps have been crazy low this year. We are seeing single digits for three days in row here in the CenTex...
Good luck with new motor. I would at least and throw a nice affordable set of stage two cams in to give you some extra ponies while the new block is going back in.

So do I need to be really careful with my L even though it's bone stock? Or is the stock tune pretty safe?

I'm not stock and still play with mine in the cold, it has been in the single digits here durring the day and below zero here for the past week or so. Only trouble I have is traction and the few spots with sand still left on the road, otherwise she loves this weather.
