Im looking into going with a set of CCW wheels...

20" x 11" wheel in the rear and 19" x 9.5" wheel in the front and Im wondering what would be the best tire sizes to run...Im looking to get the widest tire I can for the rear without having any isses.

I would like to run a Pilot Sport PS2 335/30ZR20 in the rear ???

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

My other option is just to go with what a few others have done
19 x 11 and 19 x 9.5 CCW with
BFG KDW2 rear 295/35 front 275/35

My buddy has this set up on his GT500 lookes really nice but the rear tire could be bigger imo. the 295/35 is too small for a 11" rim. He wishes he went with a wider rear tire may be 305 or 315 if they make it

Well thats what I'm thinking, but there's not many tire choices in a 19" tire and that would be one of the reasons I would step up to a 20" wheel/tire combo on the rear.
I need to find out if that would work for me though.??

ps2 315/30/19. You can't go too wide b/c of the inside wheel well clearance. i am barely clearing with 295/35.

305 would be perfect for an 11" rim on the GT500. It'd give the tire a nice, straight, shouldered sidewall which makes for better handling sKiLlZ.

Then again, I hate the look of bulging tires, so...

So your that close to the wheel well....is your car lowered??

Are you thinking I will be able to run the ps2 315/30/19 out in the rear even If I lower the car in the future???

my car is slammed. I think 315/30 should be fine, but any wider and i think you'll run into issues. IMO, the bfg's are good enough tires in 295/35...the PS2's are worth $500-600 more.

That's what so nice about the PS2's (except being a hell of a tire) is they come in all those odd ball sizes.

Michelin Pilot Sport PS2

''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''

OK been doing some serching at discounttire.com and looks like the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 are available in 305/30R19..cant find them in a 315 though...:(

Are there any online sites that carry more odd ball sizes ???

I'm going to stick with a 19 inch CCW wheel all around and run 275/30ZR-19 in the front....hoping I'm not going to have an isses...I guess there's not alot of 07 shelby's running aronud with 19 wheels so getting a straight up answer on 19" tires for the rear may not happen for now...:rolling: .

Thanks Dave...I would rather not spend $800 on 2 tires that will last a very limited time. I don't want them for racing, but for street driving. I'd love to have first gear back.

I cant imagine any tire giving you traction in first gear on the street!?!
I used to dead hook first gear on the street in my cobra with 3.90 gears and more rwhp/tq than my shelby with 275/40/17 bfg drags.

i did talk to nitto at the first of the year and was told that they will be putting out a drag radial in a 20" by the end of the year 07.

Did you have the IRS in the car?

A friend of mine has a twin screw 03 with nitto drs and he could hook in first as well with stock gears though.

My street tires can not even hook in 2nd on the street. I think I may bump tires up there on the to do list for the shelby. I will not be used to the instant TQ.
