Fairly rare occurrence but it has happened on some cars.

Not much to go on though with the amount of information posted.
I am assuming passenger side?
Which cylinder?
How did you know which side cover to take off?
What test were done?

#2 is the second cylinder from the front on the passenger side.
A "bottom rocker" is an exhaust valve rocker.
One exhaust follower popping off, by itself will not cause...
lost a cyl..

Check to make sure the valve spring is undamaged, and that the valve articulates and returns to seat while the engine is cranked.
A bent valve will sometimes spit a follower off. Make sure you do not have any lower end damage that could have allowed piston to valve contact.

I also asked some questions that I STILL need answers to if I'm going to be able to provide any help.

How did you know which side cover to take off?
What tests were done?
A compression test?
A leak down test?
Did you just deactivate coils until there was no change in the skip?
What sort of activity was the car seeing just prior to the problem?

Put it back on, put the V/C back on and fire it up. See if it stays put, and see if the skip is gone.

I think you may have bigger problems than a follower kicking off.
These things will still run skip free with one exhaust valve functioning.:dw:

213,000 miles?

Time for a rebuild.

If your too poor for a rebuild just leave the follower off. :)

you still have one functioning exhaust valve. LOL

Are we talking about an intercooler pump?

intercooler got clogged with oil .car just makes funny noises..
After being run for 53 thousand miles with no intercooler, I don't doubt it is making funny noises.:dw:
removed blower .cleaned everything,replaced pump..

problem no fire in cyl,,pulled cover just for the hell of it,,
Did the no fire in cyl problem occur before or after the disassembly and cleaning?

ive broken followers on my 2.3 turbo coupe from red line....

the valve appears to look fine the spring looks like all the others...

the only mark is on the follower itself when if came off

can i pull the lifter out with plyers like an old school engine?

also under valve cover all parts look like brand new..0% build-up .no need to clean at all

I broke this up to try and make sense of VERY DIFFICULT to read MESS!

Don't pull the lash adjuster.
Put it back together.
Run it. See if you still have a skip.

If you do it's time for a leak down test, or at the very least a compression test.

It could be as simple as a bad coil, :dw: but I highly doubt it.

I'll be surprized as hell if you don't have a hurt piston/pistons, from detonation as a result of 53K miles of driving with no intercooler pump.:nonono:

I have worked on a few 4-valve cars that dropped a roller finger follower. It was caused by the owners dancing on the rev limiter all the time.( not saying thats what you did) I have also seen them off from the factory like on beefcake(terry) 04 cobra.
