If I have my VIN #'s right from my block stamp, knowing that the donor car was a vert, VIN should read 1FAFP49Y02F120571 and my build date shows February 1, 2002. I'm thinking preproduction engine.

Interesting. The last 8 of my Vin is 3f300026. I have no idea when the engine was produced however.

Your engine build date will be next to your ESN number on both of your cam covers, take a look in there next time you get a chance and it should be fairly visible and probably easier to read on the passenger side
