I was under the imprestion this was a wap block. i knew it wasnt a 2000 cobra block seeing as there was no 2000 cobra other then the r with a 5.4. but all the research i did came back wap good to go for 03 4v swap. well my o3 iron block doesnt have this big port. what should i do guys?

This one (above)looks like every aluminator block illustration I have seen.

Are you sure that water pump hole at 8 oclock makes difference? Or might it possibly be blocked off by the front cover?

My understanding is that our OE production Iron blocks are modified versions of Iron GT blocks with center counter weight balance clearance added.

So the one in your car should look like this one.

timing cover does not block it. im hoping its just a spot they found to pull weight and save aluminum to make it cheaper to produce. i kinda freaked out when i noticed it. tuesday ill go back to the shop and wrap my lips around it and blow see where the air comes out or if it is blocked off some where.

it seems like a post98 alum block thing the teksids all look just like the iron blocks. no port and freeze plugs in same spots. i knew i should have got a teksid but this deal was to sweet. seems it my have blinded me from incompatibility.

couple of questions does the water pump that you have bolt on to the blok correctly ? does your timing cover also bolt on correctly ? if the answer is yes to both of these ?? then just silicone the hole before you asseble the whole engine you should have no problems.. if you have any questions feel free to call me at 832 208-8932 .

I need to take a closer look at the back of the cover but everything lines up right. It just looked like the port would dump water into the cover if something wasnt done to prevent it.

called ford racing tech line. its a dead port that runs under the valley. my first guess it was to cut weight and save on material cost was correct. thanks to all who tried to help.
