I didn't know if they had them running in SLI yet. That is beeeeast.
Do you have a certain SSD you favor? 950 pro?

Sweet. I only used samsung SSD's so I do not know any better.I have a preference, personally, towards all things Corsair. But to my knowledge they aren't the fastest reading or writing SSDs out there. If that's what you're looking for I'll have to defer to someone who knows via firsthand experience/research.

Some games are just poorly optimized or, and it's totally possible, some games are just that graphically demanding.
For instance, I've heard GTA V for PC is pretty well optimized and even with a 1070 (I know, because I have one) I can dip into the 50-60s with the graphics maxed out. Games really aren't discernibly different on medium or high settings though, and run much better that way. Plus AA kills FPS.
Nice upgrades though, and crazy that your GPU literally caught fire!
You should definitely be noticing a difference between a 4790K/970 versus a 7700K/1070. Are all other settings otherwise equal, as far as graphics settings/sliders?
And yeah, Samsung SSDs are almost universally raved about for their speed and reliability. I just had a theme in mind and stuck to 100% Corsair products where I could.
As far as the settings, basically the same.
I utilize Nvidia Geforce experience to optimize games for me and the 1070 was optimized one line under 1080 quality and I changed that to 1080. The 970 would struggle a bit in certain games running that high.
The computer itself is faster, but, not by huge margins by any means. Someone was saying that going from a 970 to 1080ti would be drastic in comparison.
Corsair makes great products. I've had their gaming mouse for many years with no issues and have had a PSU for about 3.5 years before it failed as well. Other PSU's I've had failed within a year of use.
I also hear their GPU's are great.
I'm a huge EVGA fan, though.
That's why you're not seeing a dramatic increase in FPS. I also use the GFE optimizer, and once it detects the shift from a 970 to 1070, I can about guarantee it's automatically ramping up the settings to near max. As far as not significantly faster, in terms of what? Browsing? You're going from an OC'd i7 to an OC'd i7. I would think the only place you see definitive gains at that point are in benchmark programs like Cinebench.
I really wish you had your old system to compare again. I bet there's huge differences.
Alright I think I found the issue with these Astros.awesome man, let me know if it works. If it does, I'mma chew Astros' ass. hahahahaha

Alright I think I found the issue with these Astros.
I use the optical cable for the surround sound. I have the "astro voice" as my default communication device, and the "optical out" as my default device. When having that the audio sounded Like crap.
Then just to experiment I turned off the dolbly button, and then boom! The audio sounds is crispy clean.
I played a few pubg games and the game audio was clear, surround sound was there, and I didnt get any audio disconnection.

CPU Currently installed is an I7-7800X. I am replacing that with an I7-7820X next week. Waiting for the chip to arrive.
Wife's screen below. The desk is still a mess but it will be cleaned up. I plan on placing some LED strips outside the case behind the screens. I have custom screen stands with metal frames - the LED strips have magnets on them and should stick to the frames easily.
LOL thanks! It could have been a dual CPU setup though. This should last me a decade. My previous computer worked out fine for 10 years because it had good components back in 2006/7. But it was time to upgrade. I'll post more pics once it is all cleaned up with the LED lights installed.
