I just built my first PC over the weekend. I had my buddy help with picking the hardware as I'm not well versed in computer. lol

Specs:
i5-7600k
Gigabit z270-XP-SLI MB
Asus Gefore GTX 1070
Coolermaster Hyper 212
Crucial 275gb SSD
Seagate Barracuda 2tb HDD
Corsair CX-750M
G.SKill 16gb (2x8) Ram

My first venture into a gaming worthy computer...plus my college laptop has been on the fritz so decided it was time for a real PC.

Good on the GFX Card and the Ram
I would go 1TB Samsung 850 Evo SSD. It's Nice not to have to worry about space.

I Have a 1TB Samsung 850 Evo SSD and its great.

I'm gonna have to pass on the 1TB SSD. That's a roughly $250 expense I don't really need when I already have a 1TB HDD. I'm still not completely sold on the additional 256GB SSD.

As a matter of fact, I just checked, and I have 75GB left on my 120GB SSD I have now, so I highly doubt I'll be adding to it. Lol

Got some new goodies in!

New desk, new chair, added an extended mouse pad and swapped to an Asus ROG Strix GeForce GTX 1060. Also did some major cable management and put up some LEDs on the new desk. More cable management to come:

Notice the built-in cup holders as well. Gah I love this desk!

I know it's not much, but I'd like to offer my old keyboard/mouse combo and RGB case lighting (both can be seen above) to anyone who wants to pay for the ride. It's just a little way I'd like to give back. See descriptions and pictures below:

The keyboard/mouse is a Devastator II from Cooler Master. It features solid green back lighting in both (no special effects).

Also up for grabs is my old Logisys 12" RGB LED strip made for the inside of a case. Will include everything needed for plug and play installation (might want to grab some double sided tape though).

Who is excited about Ryzen? I've never been an AMD fan, but for half the price of their high end I7's, the 1800x is an i7 ass kicker. Only thing that beats it is a $1600 cpu 6950x. I'm due for a rig build, waiting to see test real world results from ryzen, gonna take the setup plunge. DDR4/GTX 1080/Ryzen 1800x/samsung nvme ssd.

This is very relevant to me as I'm about to pull the trigger on an i5-7600K. Maybe I'll wait to see some real world results first.

Ryzen will be a game changer, I just want to see how the single core performance does, but either way Intel will have to either lower prices or try to find a huge performance increase to keep their piece of the market share

Ryzen will definitely be a gamer changer. I am tired of Intel raping us with their obscene prices because of the lack of competition. Hopefully this leads to great products, same way the Camaro/Mustang rivalry during the last 7 years or so.

DirectX12 is definitely going to help them out in pushing Intel to do some work.

The desk is a FREDDE from IKEA.

And as of right now, the keyboard/mouse combo and case lighting have been spoken for. If the deal falls through, there's a short line and I'll update as needed.

I would wait for the 1080ti to come out, its less then a month away from release and its possible the price of the 1080 will drop because of it
