Really?? Sure they do. If they have dependent children and they have any taxable income for the year, which most of the people of welfare do, they qualify for the unearned income credit. I have seen women on welfare who earned $7500 for the year and paid in $600 for the year in Federal Taxes receive a refund for over $3000.

Sure it is a cheap price. But I paid 39% of my income back in total taxes. Still a fair price.

But why should I pay more for the same representation and less benefits???

I can't drink alcoholic beverages in public;

Buy a handgun;

nor file a lawsuit in my state.

I only made $10,000 (@ 2.13/hr + the reported tips) got audited, and paid close to 2600 since they figured I pulled $4,000 in tips.

Because you still have 61%. That 61% stemming from $xxx,xxx

I have 75%. That 75% stemming from $10,000.

Look,. I agree with you our tax laws are nutty. and i agree there should be a federal sales tax, but you need to look at our different lifestyles/situations in a relative manner. You pay more,but you still have collectively more than i do in 3 years pay.

That isnt the point. We both get the same representation for different forced cash contributions. That is like saying I should pay more for an 03 Cobra than you because I make more money.

For things to be equal lets even out the playing field. Equal representation for equal taxes.

That is our system. I pay 39% of my income in taxes and get back very little and others pay 10% of their income in taxes yet get back 30%.

go figure! Welcome to the Governments sliding scale on the cost of representation!
