Just ordered black Vortech kit from Beefcake (thanks Beef!!), and I currently have 19x8.5 square AMR setup. I will be ordering 19x10s for the rears, but which tires should I order, and who has the best deal on that tire? I want something that will hook well on the street, but is also decent if I get caught in the rain. I don't drive in the rain often, but want to feel safe if i choose to do so.

I DD on Nitto 555r and they seem to work out good. Plus they are pretty good in the rain. I have 20s and the tires aint cheap. Not sure about 19s.

19s are the worst wheel size for good tires because they are $$$$$$. There are mickeys and nittos for that wheel size but man they are just priced wild.

They were on the car when I bought it. 18s don't look right, and I would rather not buy an entire set of 20 inch wheels and tires if I can avoid it.

Yea I'm not into big wheels for a number of reasons. But if you keep the 19s look to spend about 350-400 per rear tire if you want to hook with that blower.

I've been running the nitto 555r's with roughly 700whp and they are ok when dry and warm. More surprisingly is they actually have traction when wet too

18s dont look right?? i love the look of mine IMO and drag radials are way cheaper especially when they only last 3-5k depending on brand.

Not a great selection of sticky tires in 19'' size. You could probably run a Nitto NT05R 305/35/19 DR.
I run Toyo R888 295/30/19's on a 19*10 rim.

I ran m&h 18" DRs and now I'm on 15" 555r, my .02 is that the nittos hook better because of the wheel size. Those 18" soft DRs lasted 1200 miles. I will second the 555r tire being decent in the rain. Bigger wheels do look better, but long term the tire cost was gonna get at me. Maybe think about running two sets of wheels if traction in the rain and hooking when it counts are important. I will say blowing the tires loose at 60+ gets old quick

Nt05, re-11, mpss, invo are all good choices besides any kind of drag radial. Suspension components can make a big difference.

I say with the power of a blower no suspension component is going to make a bigger difference than a good drag radial like a MT or M&H.

if it's dd, the pilot super sport or the nt555r drag radial, if it won't see rain, the m/t or nitto nt 05 radial

I got rid of my 19 brembo wheels and got the 2010 gt500 wheels in an 18" staggered setup due to lack of 19" tire options, and the difference in tire price (main motivation). For how often I get new tires and the life of DRs in general, it made more sense. I'll be getting a weld 17 15 setup in the near future, however.

I have nt05r's on a 19x10 rim with Paxton blower and they hook fantastic. They'll bite from a 2nd gear WOT roll and not spin power shifting to top of 4th with 3.73s...

Have some pics on my Paxton install thread...

I'm running 19x10s all 4 corners with Michelin Pilot Sport AS3 285/40/19. They cost $360.00 each, they're the best tire I've run to date and I can rotate them. Go to Michelin's website and read up on them.

Machete...how is the fit as the diameter goes from 27.1" to 28" with your suspension? What is the drop with your H&R SSS (I have bmr springs)? Any adjustments to the front or rear? I'm looking to get wider tires/wheels, sorry for the sidetracking the thread
