How long have you had the car?
The first thing to do if you just got it.. Oil change, plugs, check all the fluid levels then fix any problems that you can find. Try and start off with as much of a clean slate as you can.
Then shifter, intake, exhaust and gears.
The shifter was the first mod I did... 3 days after I got my first cobra, I powershifted 1-2 gear and snapped the shift fork. After I put in a new transmission, I got a shifter with proper lockouts (MGW).
