So far through a search I've found specs for lug nuts.
And a number to a company that has a $170 book that I assume would have them.
I need to reinstall my Eaton... should I just buy the book or is there a cheaper solution?

There's actually a little more to it than that.
What to loc-tit, anti-sieze, and where to use silicon gasket maker.

Somebody must have the book I'm talking about.
It's from Helm Inc.
Could you confirm that it has what I'm looking for?

OK, they say to tighten to 89 lb-ft in the first torquing, then using the same sequence, turn the bolts 1/4 turn more. here are some pics...

Here's where you get it.

IMO the documentation should be your first mod.

Well if the 10 N-m is correct, then yes, it would be 89 lb-in. That doesn't seem very tight to me though.

I don't know either, but that's the spec, from the book. I wonder if Ford techs are breaking bolts and stripping threads all over the place.

When I put my KB in, I remember torquing those bolts. I don't think it was 89 ft/lbs though. That's a little high if my memory serves me correctly.

I have the helm book. Its 140 bucks, but well worth it. I would buy the book. It sucks having to run back and forth to your computer and searching for things is a lot harder.

PS. You never called me today. What happened? Are you coming to the track tomorrow? I'll be there at 8. Mike and another guy from RI are coming. You should come too.

Course if you have a laptop with the dvd and autotap on it too, it's a very accessible resource... :burnout:

P.S. Would like to have the book too, but this was a cheaper solution...

Pete

It was definitly 89 in-lb. With an additional 90 degree turn it was nice and tight.
It took me all day to put everything back together. I was working by myself.
Sorry if I never called Mike.
I'm suprised your still going to the track today. The forcast is rain, and the roads in RI are already wet. I've got some family stuff to tend to today, I won't be there.

The car's running great, thanks to all who pitched in with advice.
