First, let me say, it IS an LS1, but everyone likes a little carnage!!

Dropped a valve on the way to work a couple days ago, and it got ugly! Time for more power i guess!

Afterwards, i checked the spring pressures on the remaining springs, and found out they were all bad..

Installed height (1.8") should have been 125lbs.. It was 90
Compressed Height (1.2") should have been 348lbs... It was 260 at most..
Even at coild bind (1.11"), i was still UNDER 300lbs.

On to the aftermath, Enjoy:

This is how the valve was sitting when i found it:

Shrapnel out of the intake manifold. Yes thats the valve stem:

That piston took a beating. I think I'd break out into tears if mine went like that especially after a roughly 6k build.

Do you plan on reusing that piston, or do you think it's too messed up?

LQ build up next?

Im not sure yet. Im more leaning towards maybe a stock bottom end (Its N/A) and maybe a solid head/cam/intake package if i can afford it. I would like a 6.0, but i prefer the weight of an LS block, since im going to keep it semi mild.

 Its a little more sneaky now with the Maggy catback!

well, go big or go home. Consider this an "upgrade opportunity", lol
I completely agree!! If it breaks, build it stronger! The car already has a 4k stall, built trans, and gears, so now its time for an engine i guess.

That sucks! I had a very similar event with my old '94 Camaro. It wasn't pretty, either.
