when is the hellion BOV too small

It sounds to me like I had a bit of shutter after the BOV opened. when are they considered too small?

Which one do you have? The stock piece that comes with the kit or the Turbo XS upgrade? The TXS BOV is made for turbo cars that can run over 25psi, so you should be fine with that. If you have the stock one, 12-14 might be pushing it.

I thought the one that comes with the kit IS the turboxs one.

I am running the turbo XS Racing Bypass Valve Type H34 (RBV-H34)

all depends on the kit. the smaller based turbo's use the bosch/mitsu style bypass valve. when you go larger than the 62mm, you either upgrade or the kit comes standard with the turbo xs valve. or some upgrade to it with the 62mm knowing that they will upgrade the turbo later.
