Wheel Question

Can't search right now so I figured I'd just ask because I probably won't find what I'm looking for anyways.

Has anyone ever sanded down their 95 R style wheel before? Mine are silver right now and I was going to either paint them or have them powdercoated. But I was wondering what is under the silver that is on the wheels? I know it may sound retarded but I wonder what the wheels would look like sanded down to bare metal and polished up. If anyone knows it would help. Thanks guys

don't have the money for that.

I think that without some kind of coating, wheter it be a clear, paint, or powder, the polised aluminum will look terrible after a short period. Wheels see alot of "abuse" and I think bare metal would get pretty messed up really quickly,

Would that "aircraft remover" stuff work for this? There was a thread somewhere about polishing the backside of the chrome 03 cobra wheels, because apparently the backs are painted. Might be something to look into.
