The inspection cover is usually a separate piece that attaches to the separator plate.

If the plate between the engine and the trans can not be removed without separating the two that's not what I would call an inspection plate.

They are normally two different pieces. Though a new assembly may come with both.

It is a separator plate. Or at least that's what it used to be called.
If you ask for the inspection cover and it turns out to be available that way that's all you will get.

Are we confusing the 4.6 2vl/TR3650 or the 3.8L/T50D with the Cobra/T56?

From what I can tell from the service manual the Cobra does not have an "engine rear plate" (like pictured in this thread), unless the manual simply does not include the part?

The manual does show this part on the 3.8L motor....

Our motors definitely have this, I have one sitting in my shop that was sandwiched between the motor and transmission.....

This has nothing to do with the topic of the thread, but OP, I don't like your sig. (Reference my sig).
