I have a 01 cobra with some fr500(10 1/2*w) in the rear. I wondering what is the widest size i can go with and do i need those irs bolts? Currently i'm running with 285/35/18, but this shop in LA is selling some hankook tires sized 315/30/18 for $80 per.....Would 315's rubb or is the 30 series to low in profile for dd quality??????????????

your FR500s are 18x10 for the record. Some manufacturers misrepresent them as 10.5 but they are infact 10 inch wide unless they were widened.

Anywho, 315/30/18 will fit, albiet a little tight with some bulge but not bad. Yes the ride quality will suffer a little bit from lack of sidewall, but shouldn't be too bad. I would definitely recommend MM IRS bolts as a precautionary part. Not a fortune so why not.

i'm not sure about hanhooks but 80 for any 315/30/18 is a steal! Check DTD or tirerack and you'll see that most 315s run about $300+.

315s would be nice on your fr500s. I'm running 335 michelins w/ 0/32 tread on my 10.5 03 replicas and am thinking about using kumho ecsta XS in 315s for my next set of rubber.

I have the 255/45/17 Hankook Ventus K104 in the front, pretty awesome tires and very long thread life, I've burned through 2 sets of 555's in the rear since then and the Hankooks still have thick tread!!

I got goodyear gsd3 in 295 for 168 each from tire rack, and they are awesome tires. no rub and no fender rolling

I'm trying to find a new set of tires as well. I want 295 in the rear, and i have 265 in the front was thinking of going to 275. I've also just thought about putting spacers on as well to get a more aggressive stance. The problem I am having is......money, and also trying to find matching sets for front and rear - but again staying within a reasonable amount of money. LoL.. I need a second job. Oh they are both(f+r) 35 on 18"

Carnut I just looked at tire rack those things are nice for that price on a closeout, only problem is I can't find the matching fronts.. booo. Maybe tomorrow I'll check a few more sites for the fronts.

Sorry I really don't mean to hijack this thread, just a question about tires as well. Can you go with sidewall of 35 in front and 30 in the rear? I just thought maybe i can get it a little lower. The rear seems to sit just a bit higher than I want, then again im on 18" rims so its kinda my fault lol. No iso's in the rear so other than different aftermarket springs I thought about this. What do you fellas think?

I didn't run the MM IRS bolts, I just used a 3/8" wheel spacer w/ my 17x10.5's and longer wheel studs. I'm running 315/35/17 BFG KD's. No rubbing and no 1/4 rolling or anything. Clears the factory IRS bolt w/o any issues.

I use the 335 Nitto Dr, with only thing i did was roll the fenders. Wheels are 18x10 bullits. The nittos are prob more like 315 comparing them to the others.

Hey I found this link to a tire calculator in regards to speedometer changes with tire changes. Does this seem to be accurate with yall? I assume the speedometer reads off the rear tires? or the front? or does it go by rpm's? Basically I have 265x35x18 front and 285x35x18 rear. Entering both tire sizes seperately gives me two opposite answers lol.

i think ima go with some 285/35/18 because the ride quality is pretty bad already. Just imagine with 30 series.....
