I'll give you a shot. The simple answer for me is: Install the shit laying in the garage

assuming I do though, mod list:

-JLT CAI
-03 T56 w/ 26 spline input & MGW
-Spec 3+ Clutch & Alum Flywheel
-Bassani Catted X
-Bassani Cat-back
-Red Pill IRS, currently with 3.73's but starting to get quotes for 4.56 install

this is a cool topic to start droptopsnake01.

well, everything(except transmission) on my car is pretty much taken care of now for more power. rear end, fuel setup, etc....my next step is a forged shortblock. obviously pullies will be going on as well with that. looking to run somewhere around 16psi. i will be running stock heads and cams as well. i like the idea of keeping that part of the motor stock. basically i want a '99 motor still, just with better internal parts. i also want to run a 9.0-9.2 cr....

Ok droptopsnake01,

My Current Mods-
BBK CAI
Longtubes
Offroad H
Flowmaster catback
Custom SCT Tune
MGW Shifter

(Other mods are cosmetic, rims ect.)

I just saved up some dough for gears, was going to go get 4.10s...BUT, I just came across getting a deal on a P1SC with all the necessary components for the install with the exception of a new idler pulley and crossover tube. Its all for a really good price, but I wasn’t ready to spend that much.

So what do you say?

Rather…..

-Buy gears, hope for another deal down the road like this

or

-Take the P1SC deal at the expense of being stuck with the 3.27s for a while longer.

Dude steve, you gotta go with the procharger man without a doubt!! If you can get the blower without having to survive on bread and water only then i would say go for it. If not, go with 4.10's because eventually your going with a blower setup.

Hmm, well when I finally get the car down to San Antonio the plan is:

- Nazty ported intake
- 4.30 gears
- 03 Cobra clutch
- 100 shot N2O
- Triple gauge pillar pod & gauges ( oil press., water temp., N2O press. )

. . . and next year . . . E85 CONVERSION!!! ;-)

go catless and get a bigger gear that 3.73's 4.30's or 4.56's. Esp w/ that T-56, trust me.

are you looking to boost the motor or stay n/a?

I would ditch the big bore, punch it .020 over nice rods and pistons etc..the saved money you will have from not doing the big bore put towards a better FI system.

if you go FI, might want to think about a turbo/blower cam instead. I know I wish I did.

sounds good. I live how your savin for a shortblock, remember do it once, do it right. Stock heads and cams are fine also, you can always throw more boost at it. 16psi on your blower? You might be able to find a KB for pretty cheap by then

and some MT Dr's:p

spec stg 2 instead of 03 cobra clutch.

car would be nasty w/ a 4.30 gear, 100 shot and a solid rear w/ Dr's

make sure you get all the safety goodies w/ the kit.

Yeah, GenX2 kit goes w/o saying!

May go Spec 2, haven't really made up my mind on the clutch yet actually. I already have an 03 Cobra clutch setup but it looks like the f/w may be the only part that's usable so I'm thinkin' of gettin' a new clutch disk and seeing if it will work w/ resurfacing the aluminum f/w along w/ my stock pressure plate?

Sorry, the irs stays. The car is actually being set up for open track action, the N2O is really only for occasional Saturday night stop light skirmishes! :-D
