In the pic that cap was unscrewed. I screwed it back in but just wondering how that could have came loose. Looks like oil residue was coming out of it.

Yeah looks like the JLT filter to me, it's there to reduce the amount of oil that travels through the PCV system and into the intake
it was unscrewed will that do any damage? Had to have happen sometime this week cause last weekend I didnt notice it unscrewed and I took it to NTB yesterday to have the alignment redone.
It could not have come unscrewed because all it does is push into the rubber grommet.
