I am considering upgrading my gears from 3.55 to either 3.90 or 4.10.

1. Which would you do?

2. Is there a speedo gear I must get as well or can the speedo be set using a programmer going through the ECU?

3. I know I will gain low end rear-wheel torque but how will my RWHP dyno curve be impacted or won't it?

1. Depends on tire diameter, most go with 4.10's and love em.

2. You can adjust it with a programmer

3. It would read a bit different cause the gearing.

I probably would have gone with 3.90's if FRPP made them, but they don't. That is why I went 4.10's.

Go 4.10's you won't be disappointed. Then buy a hand held tunner ( SCT 2 )
and correct yuour speedo.

4.10's are great in the manual trans cars!!....but when I put 4.10s in my automatic 06 GT Convertible I had..to me..it was too much...going through the torque band too fast with the low 1st and 2nd gears....3.73's or at the most 3.90's in Automatics. Thats just my opinion though

I would do 3.73's not many can hook with 4.10's in the back.

This appears to be an issue with the S197 Manuals and the 4.10s are good for the launch in the Auto. With the new option of the limited slip differential in the 07 Autos, it is making for better extension through the 1 and 2 gears.

Question, when the hp has been substantially increased (with a KB for example), do the tires get way too overpowered by 4.10's gearing?

With additional power, do you need taller gears?
