My dad's original 72 Cutlass Supreme. Bought it new in 71 and has had it ever since. Growing up he always was trying to tinker with it, but was never really mechanically inclined or had the time. Lots of memories cruising with him throughout my childhood, though. Last summer, we finally got new interior and top installed. Hoping to get body work and paint this summer.

I had it in my garage for 6-8 months to button up some odds and ends. My kids (4 and 3) arranged their cars next to 'papa's race car'. Happy to pass the car gene to another generation. Bonus pic of taking my dad for a cruise the day my grandma passed.

My pop bought a 65 pony interior coup for my mom to drive around. He traded that in on a Lincoln Mark 3 circa 70/71 and we took a road trip to see the Indianapolis 500. I saw my first De Tomaso Mangusta. That car was different then anything I've ever seen or heard. I was a car nut from that point on.

I actually don't remember a specific, but it may have been my dad's new 95 Mustang GT he brought home as I still remember seeing it for the first time. I also remember my parents and aunt and uncle buying various cool cars around that time though. My uncle had a really nice 1979 911 and my aunt had a brand new Lexus SC300 which were pretty cool cars back then. Then my dad had a new pearl white Infiniti J30 and my mom had a G20 which the J30 was super nice at the time but he said he always regretted buying that. Those cars are butt ugly now and almost non-existent.

I always loved my MicroMachines, Hot Wheels, and Tonka toys though and I memorized at a young age what each car actually was. I mentioned in another thread where I still remember the FD RX7 MicroMachine I had as it was one of my favorites. When my parents would bring home a new car, even a new Ford Aerostar or Explorer, it was always fun as a kid to go through it and see the new features. Probably why I loved going to the Seattle car show every year also as I would collect all the brochures and posters and read them when I got home like a nerd lol.

I honestly never cared much for cars, till I was 12 saw Gone in 60 seconds and when the 67 GT500 showed up, that was it for me lol, I've loved Shelby GT500s ever since.

And when SVT brought the GT500 back in 07 and I saw I am legend, I eventually got my first 08 GT500 in 2011.

My dad was always a car guy. I remember being 6 years old and he was shopping between a 1996 mustang GT and a dodge stealth rt/tt.

Up until then I was obsessed with semi trucks

my grandpa’s 3 brothers:

1) used car lot
2) body shop
3) service station

i didn’t stand a chance…

my parents are still annoyed at how many times I’d watch smoky and the bandit when i was young. knight rider and dukes of hazard also. those shaped the love. i got some of my friends hooked that didn’t have as cool of an upbringing with gone in 60 seconds through surround sound and some nice speakers.

my dad always tells me how pissed i was at 4yo when we got rid of the 66 mustang and “monster truck” (lifted square body) because my little brother was arriving soon…replaced those with an escort wagon and Nissan extended cab lol

Pops is a car guy so it was inevitable for me but this movie is what 110% made me LOVE cars.

Eleanor is a powerball car for me, shame the director of the movie's wife is going after any recreation of that car now.

Growing up in the 90s the "cool older kid" in the neighborhood got a brand new blue IROC 3rd gen. I remember that being the first car I ever wanted. I had a 86 canaro and an 88 firebird in my early 20s then saw the light around 22 years old when I bought my sakeen and was racing on the Berlin turnpike when the 03/04 cobras came out. To think I almost ended up with a 2000 camaro ss instead.

Well, it certainly wasn't the robin's egg blue '66 AMC Rambler Classic 4 door/ with a straight 6 and 3 on the tree.... Front seats folded flat, but couldn't score any chicks with that vagina dehydrator.

Mopar GTX and earlier Chevy Novas prowled the high school parking lot. In my sophmore year, I got a '75 Pontiac LeMans (used) with the words "Midnite Wind" nicely painted on the trunk. It had a weak 350 V8 two barrel, and couldn't keep up with weak Camaros and Mustangs.

My dad did body work so cars were always around. He had a 68 Porsche 912 that I thought was really cool. The late 70's Trans-am, seeing them back when they were new driving around I loved them.
