He will be assigned to an area that supports the EFMP issues. In other words if she has cancer he would not get assigned to an Embassy assignment that has a poor record for treating cancer. That being said his own health is what determines his deploy-ability. He may have to come up with a family care plan but he should be able to kick ass whether he likes it or not. Sometimes compassionate assignments are given, it is not the norm.
