Don't know if this really goes here but i'm hoping somebody will have an answer.

Is it really legal to weigh your car at a truck weighing station. Thought most of those had signs that said "trucks only."

I've heard that ppl do this all the time, but i'm kinda tempted to go another route to determine how much my car actually weighs.

Also, looking for a typical price if there is one.

Thanks!

Just find a big truck stop with the pay scales.

Make sure they're not too busy or have anyone lined up when you go through. You'll have go in to get the ticket usually, sometimes they'll be short with you, but most don't care.

You'll probably have to get out of the car to punch the keypad.

Don't go through the scales on the interstates though, I'd say thats a no-no.
