Hello I have a question in regards to the new VMP 2.65 and pump gas 91-93 octane power numbers.
I see a lot of E85 and Race gas results but my question is what are you guys making on pump gas with stock motors and with built motors?
I have seen a few coyotes make 700+ on 12lbs or so with 93 pump gas.

700 on 93 pump is totally doable with a 2.65 and supporting mods. You see my signature. I was north of 650, with a failing BAP and a 2.3 Gen2R, with 52lber's and long tubes. A 2.65 Gen3R with FIC1000's or a set of 1050X's and 700 is there.

I like this video from VMP that seems realistic on a stock engine. The Gen3R will make similar power easier.

Pass on a Gen3 2.65 and spend the extra for the 3R
Lots of headache saved and a better design

Full bolt on car (5.4) at sea level on stock motor, 3R, full bolt ons and 93 will make around 712/678 safely, on a non canned tune

Built motor wise, more power than can be harnessed on the street and in street configuration. Easily 850+ on pump 93 if JDM were to build your motor

Talk to your engine builder and convey your goal(s), you will get there. Custom cams should go a long way.
I think it could hit 900 on the dyno but would dial it back for daily driving. Never know when you get bad batch of 93.

At the wheels? I made 563.21 HP and 549.43 lb-ft (uncorrected) at almost 14,000' DA. That corrected to 685.79 HP and 669.00 lb-ft at 15.97 lbs boost on the measly VMP 2.3. Pretty sure I was on 100 octane though I did get it from a pump ;).

If you want to make much more than that you'll have to build the engine. And if you're doing that then 850 is no problem. As mentioned in this thread, just talk to your builder about your goals.

I had all supporting mods and made 680 on pump. My 2650 was a non R.

Still retarded. SBE w/ 2.3r will get you 90% there for a fraction of the cost and provide every bit the same enjoyment. I speak from experience.

On post #14, I wanted to hit both the laugh and like button. I settled for laughter

Guy I know of, w/ a built 5.8 and a 3.6 on pump dropped 901 rwhp on the dyno. Dyno probably was inflated to ensure he was happy spending the money on a pull.

He had buyers regret after going through all that money, just like you said.

Call your tuning company of choice and talk to them about it. They don't sell parts so they have no "number" agenda and what they tell you won't be a guess.
