My girlfriend and I are taking a long weekend off in September and wanna go on a short trip to get out of CT for a few days. We're gonna leave on a Thursday morning and come back on Monday night, so we basically get to enjoy the full weekend wherever we go. The big question is WHERE to go!

- She's been to Miami a few times and loves it there, so she suggested that when the idea of a trip first came up. I've never been to Miami except for a few hours on a cruise, so I've never really experienced it.

- I've been to Vegas four times and I absolutely love it there (I'd go twice a year if I had the money and time available). She's never been to Vegas and has no idea what she's missing. Of the four times I've been, two were with my uncle (good times), one was with a buddy of mine (ridiculous time), and one was with my ex from a few years ago (also a very good time).

- The decision has pretty much been put in my hands and I know for a fact that she's 100% cool with either choice. We both like seeing new places but we both love the one we've each been to.

Right now, I'm leaning towards Vegas because a) I think everyone on this planet should experience it at some point and I know she'd have a blast, and b) I absolutely love taking people there who have never been there before. It's a lot more fun going with someone who's never been and showing them around and seeing their first-time reactions to everything than going with someone who knows the deal.

Also, as much as some people will probably say "Vegas isn't a place to go with your significant other, it's a place to go with your guy friends", my girlfriend is very unique and I know I'd have just as much fun with her in Vegas as almost any of my guy friends (especially considering I'm not single and I would never cheat on her because she's ****in awesome).

Still open to input and haven't made a final decision, though, so let's hear some thoughts!

305!

We have everything Vegas has plus beaches. Although Vegas probably has more "tourist shows".

your from up north so when you get old you will be moving to South FL...so why not go to Vegas :)
I like your thinkin!

You also have humidity, which I know can be unbearable in the late summer (I've never been to Miami for any length of time but I have been to Florida probably 25-30 times in my life, so I know the climate down there). I personally love the dry heat for vacations, and when I went to Vegas last year in September the temp was freakin perfect. Highs in the low to mid 90's every day and 80-85 at night...and DRY!!! Plus no rain.

Still contemplating both locations, though, because I know if she HAD to make a decision she'd probably go with Miami.

The way I see it, Vegas will be non-stop activities and partying from first thing in the morning (or whenever we wake up) until we crash that night (or the following morning). Miami, on the other hand, will be some partying at night but lounging on the beaches during the day, so more of a relaxing trip than Vegas.

Hmmm...

No comparison, Vegas all the way, unless you wanna sit on the beach all day.

The higher the humidity the faster the clothes come off. Nothing better than being at a bar on the beach in the afternoon with women in their underwear.

On that note, I would suggest Vegas actually lol.

Beaches or Casinos? I've never been to either but since I live in Fl, I prefer Vegas. To my understanding Miami has alot of crappy areas and is quickly going down the crapper.

Damn flight prices to Vegas just skyrocketed over the past few days! I checked on Monday and good flight times were in the $275 roundtrip range per person with all taxes and fees. Just checked today and same days and times are now close to $400 each! WTF?!!!

Miami sucks. It is not like you are going to see Crockett and Tubbs rolling around anymore. Unless you are planning on visiting Tej's garage so he can hook you up.

Vegas all the way. It will be hot until about the end of September (currently 96 f) but it is not the humid hot you will get in FL. You can be comfortable and walk around in shorts and a t-shirt all day. Plus in Las Vegas there is good food everywhere, something different to do all week (some things for free if you go on their presentations) and most everything stays open 24 hours so you really don't ever run out of time to do things. These are just part of the reasons I have been working there for the past couple years.
