Not that this is much help since it’s been nearly 25yrs since I’ve been there and my idea of fun back in my early twenties is likely much different than you and yours.
Temple Bar/Trinity College was a fun area (live music, etc). St.James Gate/Guinness was fun as a typical tourist attraction. Jameson distillery was great. Castle and other old buildings were interesting.
We decided to head south to visit the Kilkenny brewery- unfortunately they had close for the winter a week prior, so we ended up partying with some local ppl. - had an absolute blast.
I’m sure if I went there now I’d really enjoy it, just for different reasons. Coming from someone that likes to go to different places, I’d love to re-visit someday
