I had one in my bronco2 open track truck. I wore out really fast. It did hold up to the power of the turbo 4.0 where as the cf could not after a few miles on it. I really don't think it is nessasary. I used the stock clutch til it wore out now i'm using the cf.
Griggs has used the McLeod Mag Force dual disk setup on track for many years. Complete setup weighs in around 25 lbs. (yes that includes the flywheel).
You might want to talk to John regarding friction material types to get you setup for your application as they have a few different ways they can go. These are also available in a strapped (holds plates in place to reduce chatter) version which helps with the noise for street driven cars.
