So if a single makes such great power and is running great times in the quarter mile then what is the purpose of twins and shoudnt a single kit cost half as much as twin kit?

Well a set of Big twins for a purpose built Race car will always make a ton of power, look at the high HP Drag cars out there. However, for a Street/Strip car, there isn't as much of a drastic difference in power between a set of smaller Twins and a bigger Single. The TT kits make power and run some good #s and as you can see, the Single Turbo kits are making big power and running good #s as well. All depends on what you plan to do with your goals etc and what combo would fit your goals.
As far as cost, just because there is one less turbo, doesn't mean it's cheaper. A larger turbo like the 76mm one will cost more than a smaller turbo like the 60/62 offered in the twin kits. The JPC single kit uses 2 wastegates, so that is a wash with the TT kits. Factor in a nice intercooler, piping, etc, the costs aren't that much different. Also depends on the brands of parts being used etc. The JPC kit uses a billet turbo, precision wastegates, Tial BOV etc.
