This thread has me curious. I turned 50 this year and I do notice some lack of motivation, and laziness. My sex appetite is still high and I don't need any blue pills. I'm going to get tested just to see where I'm at. I've hear advertising to the Low T clinic, should I go to them or my regular doctor?

Should get a blood panel done atleast once EVERY year. Go through your primary and see a specialist.

^^^ this, I do the panel at least once a year, sometimes 2 x (every six months)

These T-clinics that have popped up everywhere, in every city are garbage, stay away. Even though I went the telmed route with a wellness doc. I still run my labs thru my PCP and she orders my panels, keeps an eye on my health markers and occasionally gives me grief over my cholesterol.

I do blood work every year but never said anything about my T levels. Wants me on Lipitor cholesterol medication but I don’t fill it. I setup my yearly bloodwork with a T level panel today. I’ll know something the week after thanksgiving.

I put off filling a statin for forever. I told my doc I would try a hydrophilic statin at a low dose, she prescribed rosuvaststin (crestor) at 10mg. Hydrophilic statins have less side effects than Lipophilic statins. They are water soluble instead of fat soluble like Atorvastatin (Lipitor) and Simvastatin (Zocor). Less likely to cause muscle aches and pains, which would suck if you workout and experience a bit of that already.

Hydrophilic Statins
Rosuvaststin/Crestor
Pravastatin/Pravachol

I have been on for a little over a month, so far no problems. I will probably do a lipid panel in 2-3 months to see if its had any impact. My genetics drive my cholesterol and not so much my diet.. I diet even tried cutting out red meat, eggs and dairy for a while and it didn’t do shit.

Yeah friends were telling me not to take it then read some negative things about statins so it turned me off. Did the red rice yeast supplement it didn’t work for me. I’ve never been fat just a little soft around the middle and only after I turned 40. My diet is okay I mostly cook very little fast food or restaurants. But I do like meat and potatoes, pasta, pretty much everything we all like that’s supposed to be bad.

I’ve been hitting the gym pretty hard (3-4) days a week with cardio after weight training so added muscle aches would be a bummer.

Yeah brother I tried red yeast rice, niacin and other herbal remedies… nothing really worked. I still wear 32s in my jeans and in my 40s as well. I hit the gym hard and run weekly. Shit genectics when it comes to cholesterol. I need to do the more comprehensive panel and see the break down. I think Lipo A proteins being higher are genetic and Lipo B proteins are more dietary when it comes to LDL Cholesterol.

Born and raised Brockton. Living in Naples.
I’ve tried just about every protocol there is. From doing a nonstop one year cycle to doing it every 5 days to doing it twice a week or tree times a week.

I have found what I believe to be the best protocol “FOR ME.”

Smaller dose. Every other god dam day. No more peaks and valleys.

Is my protocol going to work for you??

How the fook do I know I’m not a doctor but you gotta love needles to do it and I’m silly like that.
My doctor is on board with this method but most patients won’t do it.

For most people I’d say a shot every 5 days or two shots a weeks is best.
Injections only.

And. Don’t ask me where I’ve been.

No one who routinely spends hours a day on a phone and or social media is genuinely happy.
And I decided to end all social media and bullshit from my life.

Good to see you brother! Thank you for sharing! I agree with regards to more frequent injections for consistent stable blood levels vs doing 1x week. Nothing wrong with splitting your dose into smaller more frequent injection. I see more and more doing EOD injections with an insulin syringe, easier to draw a small dose and inject it for a lot of guys.

In regards to the roller coaster what side effects are you guys seeing? I do once a week and notice nothing at all other than horny as fu**. Although I just might not be noticing them while having them. I feel like I just hurt all the time everywhere no matter what..hahaha

I didn’t notice anything super obvious per say, though I was more irritable and didn’t have as much energy. The real tell was the trough in my bloodwork, showed that free and total test were half of what they were when I was using the same dose split over multiple injections vs 1x. I do my bloodwork on the day of, but before my next injection. Since switching back to 3x (MWF) I can tell my energy levels are up and generally just feel better. FWIW I never felt bad on 1x a week, but I won’t be going back to that. I only tried 1x a week because I was being a cheapskate with syringes and had gotten a little tired of frequent injections.

I didn't notice anything when injecting once a week, but i doubt anyone would unless you had nearly every variable controlled (diet, sleep, daily routine, etc). If you were to take labs you would see a difference. I also believe that larger injections have a more adverse effect on red blood cell production but that could be a theory that hasn't been proven. Most folks diehard into TRT recommend smaller, more frequent doses...for more consistent hormone levels...

I like my Monday morning and Thursday evening routine. Smaller needles are always good. I HATE needles.

For those using insulin needles for test injections, are you going sub q or intramuscular?
I’ve always heard that intramuscular is better for oleophillic suspensions like test
