Tried my hand at some Plasti Dip. (CTS-V content) New Pictures

I know, I know it's not a Ford product.
So I have seen a few Plasti Dip threads lately. I have really wanting to black out my grille for about a year now. Here is what I was able to do. I will do the side trim this weekend, and the car will be complete.
The only prep work was a simple car wash, and of course the masking off everything which didn't take to long. And also I put paper behind the grille so there wouldn't be any overspray on the radiator and intercooler. As far a supplies are concerned, I used two cans of Plasti Dip $6.99 each at any Home Depot, or Lowes. I applied Five coats. The reason so many coats, is that allows me to peel it off in one peace if I need to.

I'm very happy with the end result. It turned out very smooth and consistent texture. Let me know what you think..

Small Update::
Ok so listened to everyone here on SVTPerformance and took the Plasti Dip off the Wreath. I think it looks way better :beer:. I have desided that i'm going to shoot the cheap plastic brake ducts that are around the fog lights to. that way it will all match up. I havn't had time to finish the window trim yet. There just isn't enough hours in the day, and it had been alittle cold. I don't want any issues when I spray this stuff.
Sorry for the crappy Iphone 4 pictures. When i'm done I will do a proper photo shoot..

I was able to finally get around to finishing my car. I sprayed the side trim yesterday. The hardest part was masking everything off.

Surprisingly good result! I agree the wreath would look better in chrome as it was. Only drawback is the plasti dip looks like crap after a while. Fortunately it can be removed without too much hassle. Probably saves the car from nicks as well.

Well it looks like everyone agrees with my wife. She said the wreath would look better chrome to. I did that on purpose, it's easier to peel it off then try and respray it. The best part of this stuff is that it's not permanent. I will post more pictures when I finish the car.

Looks great, man! I personally love the stuff. I agree on pulling the paint off the wreath as well. Did you mask off behind the grill while you were spraying?? I couldn't tell from the pics and I'd hate for your radiator to get clogged! Looks good!

Thanks everyone,
PhoenixGT09- Yes I did completely cover the radiator and intercooler. I have heard of guys not covering them up and everything being okay. But not me, neither of those parts need any kind of coating on them.

RetroStang- I completely agree with you. Before I even bought the car I knew I had to do something about the grille.

You have a Torch Red Terminator and a CTS-V, basically my dream garage right there. The grill looks mint. I love the look.
