Hi all. As some of you know, I have a 2003 dsg mach 1 making 460/440 at the tire. I was out running a trackhawk the other day and went for 2nd (with my stock 3650 rated at 315wtq) and missed badly... I heard a loud THUMP and now I'm really having issues getting into 2nd gear. Is this a synchro issue? Or is my tranny just SOL? Does anyone know where to get a tranny built around nj that's reasonably priced to handle ~500tq OR what trans should I get for this car as a cost effective replacement? Thanks guys

What rear gear? Once I was around 500hp I switched to a T56 the 1st gear is so much nicer on the street. Also the extra gear before OD is great if you live in the burbs and stuck in the 50-60 mph range a lot. Just my 2 cents probably not the cheapest route.

Not the most cost effective but long as its broken, might be an excuse to move up.

You're at 440rwtq so upgrading now to a T-56 makes great sense. You can, of course, have your TR-3650 re-built to higher specs, but you'll still have a 5-speed. Depends on your budget, too, of course.

Talk to Bob Hanlon/Hanlon Motorsports as they are Tremec specialists, and specifically good with the TR3650s.
Plus they should be reasonably close.
Good luck.
